Found this forum solely based on searching all the grievances mentioned. After a couple of hours of the open world gameplay the 1-dimensional AI becomes apparent. Follow a set path, no reaction unless you literally plow them down. Given the option to talk to NPC and rewarded with two responses with no content or relevance. I was at a point yesterday where I could almost ignore these flaws as I delved further into the main storyline.

The interaction and overall development between V and Panam (promise no spoilers), in my opinion, is brilliant. Found myself becoming surprisingly immersed and invested in the storyline. Feel Panam is one of the great characters of this game and starting to connect more with V. Then I got curious and googled where it goes...

Will not mention details of that specific ending and spoil it, but for those who know, my god it feels like a massive middle finger and echoes the "release and let's just get our money" sentiment of the AI.

Currently hanging on a thread, praying they have something spectacular up their sleeves for the first DLC/expansion, else that storyline also becomes an irrelevant, one-hit wonder like the AI.

I really believe that the CD will make an official statement on the state of the game soon - I hope. I understand how difficult it is to make a game as they dreamed, but I think they are capable. In fact, I think they can still revolutionize if they want to.

For about 6 years I truly thought CP2077 was going to be one of the best games ever made. The last 2 years I really started to worry but kept the faith through the doubt. After playing it and the reality sat in I can only describe it as a 10 ton reality check. CDPR has the ability to redeem this game just like Hello Games did with No Mans Sky and I genuinely hope they do because the foundation is there. Whatever they have to do, bring in help or whatever it takes I just hope this story ends in a positive way for more than their bank accounts.

If you remove the quests from the game, it's easily a 5-6/10 game. Mess around with the world for a bit and everything crumbles to pieces. There are tons of systems that are like alpha builds, really early in stage. AI is non existent, the world is completely shallow as nothing is interactive outside stupid vending machines. Not to mention the Cop "system". Incredibly disappointing.

The knew. They knew this was in no way, shape, or form ready to ship. That's why they wouldn't allow anyone to see, play or review console versions before launch. Very underhanded. But hey, they got their 8-9 million pre-orders and rushed it out in time to get that sweet Christmas money, right?

Sucks for them then that at least half of them probably got refunded.

I saw on the forums a guy bought it on Steam, spent a bunch of times in the options trying to get it to run smoothly, and by the time they gave up, they'd spent more than 2 hours and couldn't refund.

Ppl are so hypocrite. They can pray on witcher 3 and praise the creators, but suddenly they start to hate and denounce. Can you just wait for fixes? Can you just understand that it is a huge game and even the witcher 3 was not ideal at first. The company is working on bug fixes no doubts, I believe the game will be perfect. It is not a one another crap game from ubisoft it is something else, something bigger. One cannot reach glory without work and failures.

On my xbox series x the game looks gorgeous and so smooth. I see a lot of bugs, but I see patches and I can wait. Haters gonna refund and buy it again after a year I tell you. But those guys just pathetic.

The main difference is that the content for the Witcher 3 was there. Yes, the game was a buggy mess on launch... but it was full of stuff to do.

Cyberpunk doesn't have that. It's a buggy mess too. But the world of Cyberpunk is barren and empty. There's tons of "go here and shoot guys" things to do... and that's pretty much it. The loot system is trash. The world is vapid, full of fake vendors you can't interact with, useless shops, and a complete lack of life. Where are the joy toys that should be on pretty much every street corner? Where are the huge numbers of vendors you should be able to interact with? Where's an interesting loot system or workable food/drink system where consumables aren't useless and found in the millions lying in the street? Where is the AI for pedestrians and especially traffic? Where's the Brain Dances? Where's the random car chases? Where's the gang relations? Where's the choice and consequence? Where's the life?

Cyberpunk is basically what you'd expect from an alpha build of an open world engine. They have the core backdrop... but none of the AI and content that is supposed to fill it up.

During the development process, a lot of things are cut out, and that's okay. I am sure they will add something in the DLCs

A lot of things are always cut, it's normal, yes. But not good. Every cut feature is a loss in terms of gameplay. The more you cut, the more you lose. The cut content in The Witcher 3 did hurt the main quest. What if they kept cutting and got rid of Skellige? What if they didn't manage to make the battle of Kaer Morhen work and they'd cut it (and this got close to become reality)?

So if you add an "alpha release" title or "early access" would it be more welcome?
No man sky were ugly firstly but now is awesome. Baldurs game 3 is developing right in front of the players as an early access, witcher 3 was buggy and had so many free updates and dlc's.
Any way I enjoy the game and it is matter of time until it is polished.
It is better to see the game now than wait couple more month or years until the devs decide that it is perfect (and become obsolete)

Wouldn't call it a major disappointment. The main story parts are all quite good in my eyes, and even some side quest chains were (or are) engaging and drew me in personally. It's just that there's a certain "divide" and gap or disconnect between the main setting and other side activities / the world and its interaction or lack therefore in general.

Everything I write here is nothing more or less than 'speculation', it is not confirmed, it may not be feasible, although it is sincere - just an opinion.

All the main quests of the game are finished. Secondary ones, it seems, too. Those of the open world, these are more influenced by elements that are not yet 'polished', finished, such as secondary NPCs, civilians, police, etc. It was the price to be paid for anticipating the game in its current state. CD assumed part of this, its responsibility for the magnitude of the project and its launch. They spoke of 'we underestimate'. Alongside this, came the issue of the bonus policy.

Fact is, these are problems that are and will remain on the CD table next week. They will have a lot of work ahead of them, the most urgent is to make the game 'playable' on the platforms that have signed up. After this stage, which is related to the overall performance, the second stage will come, prioritizing the necessary polishing to NPCs, AI's, etc. and so on. Of course, all this work, primary, emergency and secondary happens at the same time, although the priority is to make the game playable on PS4 and XBOX.

About performance I can't complain and I play on a simple i5, 970 GTX and nothing, no configuration of mine is at least, all in medium or high. I have a nice screen in my monitor...and this game is fantastic, with a huge potential and a great future.

I remember experiencing slightly similar degrees of disappointment with RDR2 - due to its crappy start on PC during the first few weeks but that was technical issues. With CP77, there are a serious gameplay issues - I waited 8 years for this game to drop. What I've seen in the trailers over the last years is not the same as what I'm currently experiencing. I had mad fun the first few hours with the prologue and all, basically what we've seen in the trailers already but after that I'm going "now that I went through the story a bit and earned some eddies, I'm going to install me some crazy chrome faceplate or get my jaw replaced by some metal as I saw in the trailers" but not that this is not even possible I cannot even change my friggin' haircut or have tattoos.
I was so looking forward to an adult game and I think all is already there. We have the atmosphere, the breathing sin-hole of a city, the characters, the ads, the NPCs looking awesome - but I, as V, feel kinda out of place because I cannot really participate (in terms of customization) and get lost in this city (e.g. braindances). This is not immersive. In the Deus Ex series I was able to see implants, mods, and all - but why am I the only person in Night City with a normal face? I had hoped that CP77 would be the game I longed for so many years: adult, hard, sinful, dark, sad, letting me off the reins with my character.
The game is not a week old yet, and I have mad hopes in CDPR (I gladly invested my money) and that they fix their stuff, listen to the community and actually deliver on what they promised over the last years. I know it was a hard year, pandemic and all, but currently, and I'm not denying that I had some fun in my first few hours in Night City but I want to not only feel but also be part of the gritty, adult and dark atmosphere that is placarded all over the city.

Thats the same way Im feeling I feel like its there but its not fleshed out or its completely missing. I hope that if they plan on making this into a series that this mistake is never done again. In the future they should take tips from Rockstar of how to make a lively and interactive city because if they do I can guarantee Night City would be fun to just be around.

Honestly, from what I've seen already - they have done a superb job in terms of creating a city full of lore with all types of crooks hanging around, it feels lived in, it feels right to me. Also, the story I haven't progressed that far but what I've seen was good.
But the way I traverse through the city and am (supposedly) part of this world it is not very convincing. Yes, V is a nomad / street kid / corpo but stands out at every corner. I cannot sit down in the city. I'm supposed to be a badass cyberpunk and cannot even smoke a cigarette whenever I want (think of Arthur Morgan). I'm not affected by cyber attacks. At every street, at every club, in every mission I encounter NPCs looking way cooler than me. In other games, you get this feeling "oh, this haircut I can get also?" and run to the next barbershop to try it out.

Has anyone playing on the Xbox One X found the 1.04 patch made visuals and performance worse? I'm having this problem. Before the patch they game actually looked surprisingly good! Now it looks like a base Xbox game without the enhancements for One X. It crashes and lags so badly! I preferred the game before the patch. I guess I can't uninstall the update?

Really disappointed and dissatisfied! I really wish I could get a refund for this game!

But I agree the city doesn't feel alive ebough. It feels like I'm playing an old game.

Had they released this as "early access" and had a retail price equal to that, then people would've known to really temper their expectations. I was one of the people that before launch was telling people to keep their expectations in check and even I'm stunned at the condition of this game. If you charge the standard full price for a complete and finished game, that's what consumers should get at release, not years down the line. We give hell to any other developer/publisher that releases a broken, incomplete title but CDPR gets a pass why exactly?

A friend of mine said that Gamestop told him they would allow him to return it within 48 hours if he didn't like it but he isn't even going to open it until Christmas. He thinks Fallout 4 is a masterpiece so who knows. The problem is he gave me shit for over a year because I convinced him to buy No Mans Sky and that game was a disaster at launch and he plays on base PS4 so what are the chances CP2077 are playable on base PS4 by Christmas? Not likely and just like with No Man's Sky I really pushed CP2077 on him and hyped it up so I'm probably going to be getting another years worth of an earful from him about how I suck at recommending games.

I watched its first gameplay trailer yesterday and when I saw the stealth kill animation I just shocked. Its looks much better and fluid than what we have now, stealh takedown animations are just awful and buggy with V's arm clipping through enemy's neck all the time. Its even stupid to we need to hold the guys before killing them. Beside stealth there is really nothing to do in whole city beside killing people, what is really ridiculous is there are lots of potential for interact with things in the city actually. Its like they really couldn't finish the game so they canceled lots of things.

To be fair the reason we hold them before killing them is because they gave us the option of taking them down lethally or non-lethally and you can use them as shields. Options baby, that's a good thing.
