Who can you relate to?

An idea popped in to my head while i was doing the Geralt make over so as usual to me i gotta ask you all who can most relate to in the game? ( CAN BE WITCHER 1 OR WITCHER 2 )

I have to say i can mostly relate to Iorveth patient: when the job is done it is done well and with care no matter how long it takes.

Strong will: Yes i have that too ( too much sometimes) Stubborn: Yes even that when i like some one it is really hard to change my mind or if i really wanna do something then i most likely i just do that :D

Humble: Yes he is that too if you look at when he talks about the ppl that he is with he never takes credit for him self. With out my friends i would be nothing even here i have made great friends so thank you for that

Coming here i can only describe it as coming home it's like every one here is nice and have helped me a lot with certain things :)

So what else can i say thank you guys 4 everything ( not too proud to admit stuff like that :D )

Your turn to tell us who you can relate to

For anyone who's seen my avatar, it will be no surprise that I relate to Shani. :D

The Witcher has witchers -- who seem to be the thirteenth-century equivalent of superheros :) -- and sorcerers and sorceresses. The Witcher 2 has us hobnobbing with kings from several lands.

Shani doesn't have special powers, and she wasn't born to a crown; she's just a regular person. But she's acquired the power to heal through study and hard work, and she uses her power to heal to help people, even though she doesn't have the wealth of a king, the power of a sorceress, or the physical robustness of a witcher.

A regular person who's doing the best she can to improve her corner of the world -- that's what I aspire to, and that's why I love Shani.

Shani is pretty and she is a smart woman she is also a very brave woman going where most of us would not dare to go just to heal a person so very good choice in deed

To the question at hand, I'd have to cast myself as Geralt. Not for his fighting prowess and martial skill, but rather for how his social life seems to play out. He's an outsider. Everyone views him with an air of distrust and is quick to judge based on his appearance. Even those who are kind to him are often wearing smiling masks to get something from him. The only people Geralt can actually count on are those closest to him; his few true friends (and lovers, if the player chooses). I find my social life strikingly similar to this (it may have something to do with living in the south of the US, lol). I tend to view from the outside in, rather than becoming involved in social politics myself. I'm also all about physical fitness, so I guess that can be added into the equation as well =D.

It depends on my mood, i'm a rather mercurial beggar and some days I can be as jolly and carefree as a dwarf, other days as bitter and self pitying as an elf or witcher Berengar. This is one of the strengths of the game, almost every character can be related to, even walking slime like Bernard Loredo can be understood to some degree though that just increases your loathing for the bastard.

I've always seen this as the mark of a good rpg, relatable humane characters who intrigue you just as deeply as the protagonist.

Loredo was right about one thing when it came to Geralt what he said him about being a human...

He is not only a man and a Witcher he is also a human :)

I think it would be Geralt for me.

Scarred thus cynical. Distrusted thus self-reliant. But behind that unemotional mask of a mutant there's a warm, beating human heart.

Kalkstein.

Little bit of madness, little bit of genius. Gets excited over old junk that everybody else forgot to care about years ago. So focused on his research that he forgets there's a world out there.

Yes! When I replay DA: O, it's usually because I miss Alistair. When I think about Planescape: Torment, there are a lot of wonderful things to think about, but a lot of what pulls me in is Morte's cheerful banter or Dak'kon's weird yet honorable style. I've enjoyed RPG's that didn't have memorable characters -- see Might & Magic VI -- but the coolest ones have characters that grab me and seem real.

Most people enjoy Geralt, Triss, Zoltan, and Dandelion, but what impresses me about The Witcher is that they aren't the only characters who stick in my mind. Relatively minor characters like Vincent, Kalkstein, Vaska, Yaevinn, Siegfried, and Abigail also have lots of flavor.

Siegfried of Denesle , I was going to say Geralt for his darker mood fits me as well . Siegfried has a way of looking at the world call it rose colored glasses or just plain trying to see the better of things no matter how bad . It is a child like quality but fitting I am not saying I am like that just me being a father I have to have some of this quality .

He was a nice guy in the beginning. He doesn't STAY nice, if you pick the Scoia'tael or Neutral path. He tells Geralt that he deserves death for being a horrible mutant.

Oh gosh it has been so long since i have played that one ( i did finish it when there was no Witcher 2... Witcher one was my first Rpg ) i started the second time but the game kept crashing on me so i gave up :(

Now he sounds like an a real ass for sure i can not remember whose side i went when i played the first time it has been seriously a long time.

Since there was no Iorveth it is hard to remember :D

All i remember that Yeavinn was bit of arrogant that he hated all humans and if i remember right it was mostly about him everything...

I could be wrong of course :)

Sorry to hear that. I've found the game is pretty stable under the 1.5 patch. It crashes on me maybe once every other chapter.

The next time GOG has a sale on TW1 for $4.99, you might want to pick up a copy. It's too good of a game to only play it once!

This is a tough one. I feel I relate in part to many characters, but eventually have to draw the line. In the end either Cedric or Geralt. Cedric is tired and apathetic and yet in one grand gesture he brings himself to act when it really counts. He's a noble figure.

From a personality standpoint, I have the most in common with Geralt. His sense of humor, his cynicism, his propensity to overindulge, most of all his calm demeanor.

I guess i relate mostly to Vesemir . As father and grandfather it seems i`m giving advice in one form or another when asked . A line he spoke in the game still sticks when geralt asks about mixing the potion wrong .
"Get it right the first time , It`s not that hard"
