I heard that she was voiced by one of the actresses from Game of Thrones, not sure which.
A bit disappointing, one of the (many) reasons I like Geralt so much is because its not the cliche eloquent British character that you see in all types of medieval fantasy. Hopefully she does a good job.
That's precisely how I feel about British accents in medieval fantasy. Yeah, I get why LOTR, Harry Potter and Game of Thrones has it, those novels were written by British authors and so its out of respect for those. There's no excuse for Elder Scrolls having British (Elves), Germanic (Nords) and American (Red guards and some Nords) accents dialect/accents.If it was Headey they would have announced that. I think the voice is fitting. Like it or not, British accents are a staple of fantasy. Too many American ones would actually irritate me. Besides, Triss already has an American accent.
That's a good question as to how they've picked accents, but I'm glad for the variety. The Witcherverse is unique in fantasy and is often anachronistic. I know the devs have professed to being influenced by old westerns, and I wonder if that played into the Witchers having American accents, reminiscent of the wandering cowboy in those films.That's precisely how I feel about British accents in medieval fantasy. It just feels really weird how all Witchers have American accents, so does Dandelion yet everyone else has a British accent. I wonder what's the story behind it? Rivians have Eastern US accents while people from VIzima have British voices?
CDPR have come out and said that the actress voicing Yen in that vid is not the same as the in-game VA. Will try and look up the post.This video was produced by CDPR to go along with the cosplay contest.

Description says it's Belinda Cornish, here's her imdb.

She's voiced characters in some BioWare games, sounds similar to the latest trailer.
I don't really mind having Charles Dance as Emhyr but I'd rather use professional voice actors for everything else and keep the game otherwise separated from Game of Thrones. Don't really want Headey to be Yennefer since every time I hear her voice the mental image of Cersei comes to my mind.Really! I'm really hoping that it is Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister). Kind of sounded like her too. Not a big stretch since Charles Dance (Tywin) is doing Emhyr var Emreis.
The bear speaks the truth, here's the sauce: http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/31032-Cosplay-contest?p=1369438&viewfull=1#post1369438CDPR have come out and said that the actress voicing Yen in that vid is not the same as the in-game VA. Will try and look up the post.
As of now we do not know for sure who voices Yen in the game, it's just mere speculation.
Well Letho was Shagga, so they've already got ties to GoT characters.I don't really mind having Charles Dance as Emhyr but I'd rather use professional voice actors for everything else and keep the game otherwise separated from Game of Thrones. John Marston's VA is a perfect example of that.Sort of like what Rockstar do these days, they just trust their VA Directors to ensure a solid performance, and they always do.
@Vigilance
I agree with basically everything you said. I loved Dance as Emhyr in the SoD trailer so that's why I said I don't mind him, but I really don't want to see too much of GoT's cast (or someone like Troy Baker) being a part of The Witcher 3. As talented as they are, personally I think it would still break the immersion for me too much.
It's kind of the same way with Grey Delisle and Laura Bailey, they do have range but studios always ask them to do "the voice"John Marston's VA is a perfect example of that.
Same here, having games with Nolan North, Troy Baker and Steve Blum in them sometimes puts me off from the games they are in, however, they are damn good VAs just overused (and that is an understatement), I can suddenly know when a certain NPC is voiced by Nolan North or Steve Blum at this point, though Troy Baker was a bit more illusive, since I did not know that he voiced Talion for Shadow of Mordor until a quarter of a way through the game
Back to the topic of Yennefer's VA, if it was Lena Headey, like many here said, CDPR will make a big deal because of it because that is not a cheap investment, but I really like the English VA for Yennefer, she is very close to Yennefer's voice I imagined from the books.
