Well whats the use of the BD outside investigation or forensic?

I can think only about "bad things" it range from mildly bad to very very very verry very bad thing (considering the game, Evelyn Parker is one example, or the BD tutorial), prove me wrong

And please dont say because they have promised us BD

The could hide triggers for sidequests in certain braindances, like you find information in them and they trigger a new quest for example. Or perhaps you discover a braindance in wich some niche loot in marked on your map. Of course there could also be braindances for pure information, like watching some scenes for pure entertainment and i am not only talking about or porn at all.

Even the scenes from that monk where braindances about nature and stuff.

i think BD investigation would only fit for some crime solving quests, or bigger heists (inception movie comes into mind)
but those take so much off the fast pased the game has

i think its good there are not so many BD quests in the game...
maybe a DLC will have another one..
but i didnt like the BD stuff that much

BD's could be used to explore a lot of these shards, too, instead of endless reading, which could lead to bigger stories. They'd be optional, as well. Everybody wins!

Good arguments, but for information there are shards, its way more simple to implemente them in games, ad no one watch BD for treasure search.

I think BD's just like shards will be awesome way to get some lore information... and even entertainment BDs would be awesome.
And of course, just like guys said here before - background quests trigger.

Intressting argument like, i dont like whiskey there for nobody drinks whiskey and its useless? Show me the poll you made in wich all registered steam and gog users joined and supported your opinion about braindances for treasure hunting.

You ask why people would like BDs, and then you debunk yourself by saying where a possible BD could be cool is handled via shard because its easier.
If you dont like them, just say so.
But others may actually like to navigate a BD for that reason.
Also, there's 'books' in this universe that are BD, would be interesting to view them to see whats what.
Besides, why should a BD always have to be editable?

Exactly this. Braindances could be used as triggers to enable specific content. Just a simple example: All those locked doors on the map? Imagine a BD setting a flag for some door, making it show as a door that could be opened (Though I'd much prefer all doors to be openable), or some console to become enabled for use.
And, ofcourse, there's the entertainment BD's. Sure, there's porn BD's, but there are also other releases, like Lizzy Wizzie's BD, or Judy's art BD's. It'd even be interesting if we could occasionally scroll our own BD's and review them. Find out what went wrong in some (purposely scripted to fail) encounter, where someone was hiding, etcetera.

BD's are a bit like the car fight scenes: they're fun, but there are way too few of them.

Apologies if it came acros differently.
Anyhow, the argument still stands. Just because you may not see reason to have them, doesn't means other think thesame.

My treasure hunting experience is about hint on the map, is way more fun then watch a BD so you have a motivation to explore the map

I really want to do my meditation BD.

It's right there - in my inventory...

Also - BDs could be a fantastic way to offer up lore (virtual museum etc).

There is a lot of potential exploration options there outside of Detective V and porn flogging the log.

I'd like to watch some of those book releases that are mentioned on the shard in V's room :)

Yeah I agree with some of the other comments in the thread.

the BDs would be great to have some crime/investigation problem solving quests - where you can get additional info that might lead to alternative ways to complete a quest.

also more generally BDs could be incorporated into Shards. The Shards are too text heavy and most of them are in script format as records of conversations. Why not have those as recorded audio files with voice actors and in some cases video recording or BDs(maybe we just can’t view these ones in the editor)?

like a lot of things in the game - things that seem like obvious ways to go were overlooked. I often wonder what CDPR were doing all this time.

no wonder the investors are wondering what was done with all their money.

Yes, but people in this thread are already showing good uses for BDs and there's no reason to deny them since they'd be optional. I say MOAR BDs!
