Why a lot of people want BD?

Yes, but people in this thread are already showing good uses for BDs and there's no reason to deny them since they'd be optional. I say MOAR BDs!
yes they are all nice arguments i must admit it :D

no wonder the investors are wondering what was done with all their money.

hidden content that will be unlocked in time? :D

sorry but how the game shows BD its not is a good way (the tutorial for example) and its not true that i dont like BD it they are used for forensic and investigation, in limited number.
Why isn't it a good way to show a BD?
Okay, so you like them for investigative purpose, exactly the one way in how you're instructed in using them. Thats fine.
But again, other people may like BDs for not just that. But see much more potential in the use of a BD.
And as such would like to see it more incoporated in other instances.

Yes the meditation BD but it gives you nothing

It doesn't because the BD isn't implemented.

However - if you mean in a gameplay sense;

It's a good 'escape' from night city. In the world of Cyberpunk, the ever present darkness that permeates the world is depressingly crushing. It's kind of good, because that is the way the world should be in game, however in game - characters have their own releases. Many in the form of BD. As a player, you don't have that in game escape. There needs to be more positive escapes. BDs are a fantastic way to do that.

Meditation, concert, art gallery, museum, beach, etc. Those things are harder to implement in the world because the world has pollution, garbage, violence everywhere. In BD - you can create genuine escapes.

Brain Dance sidequests would have been awesome! You're basically a freaking detective already, it would have added so much playability as well.
I'm not talking about the snuff stuff either.

Missing people, stolen items, missing children, etc etc.
It could have been awesome.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - Detective V and their partner with a connection to the other side, Misty - adventuring through BD and Night City. Re-connecting people and helping out the common folk....for a small profit.

Not to show, to present us the Brain Dance (first the tutorial, then the Evelyn Parker thing the only BD i have seen outside the investigations one) but hey CDPR can show us more positive BD later

I have the feeling it's already in the game, isn't it ?
River questline basically features that
.
Now, more of those investigation quests would be great, sure. But the game already features some of them.

I would have liked that.

I don't care if there would be more BD.
The system potential is not good enough.
You need cyberware to shoot BD, that means you can hard to put it into detective V.
I means, what make you use a BD shooter at crime?
All detective V part actually are designed to give you special reason about it.
The point is, a common system should not rely on special reason.
BTW, build BD need CDPR build a scene.
But It's just image so that the only thing you can get in it at story side is information.
Huge work, low efficiency.
IMO, BD is a system which exist just because it should exist at CP world.
I'm no doubt manager would not love it.
Ofc It can be useful if you throw huge resource at it.
You can build a whole world and use BD to travel all over the world.
But what it changes? Make CP2077 a travel game?
So if you ask me if there would be more BD, actually yes, but would it much more? not optimistic.

whether its good or not is irrelevant, the main character can be a hired killer/thief/thug and have sex with prostitutes. Watching porn on repeat is a small deal in this world.

That said, it does use resources to create, its basically a whole scene acted out, and most of those should be used for actual content instead of side stuff. Though, some of the content should probably be reviewable, like its weird you can't use the Zen BD again, even though you have it, and they already did the work for it. Its also weird you can't redo some of the minigames. They introduce VR and BD, but they don't even use it to replay old assets, weird.

Witcher 3 had so many detective and Film Noir aspects that I think many people sort of assumed that it would carry over into CP2077.
Noir was and is, huge influence to Cyberpunk literature and considered as one of the cornerstones. From later works for example novel Altered Carbon (2002) is about character being hired as PI to solve crime.

All the detective work we do in game, many but not all involving BD's, was actually being faithful to genre. I really enjoyed CDPprojects take on Noir behind Cyberpunk and was really surprised how well they manage to implement that.

Haha impressive title,

anyway as i'm just at beginning of the main story due to only focusing on gigs perhaps im the wrong person to have an opinion but im wondering why on earth have such a thorough tutorial of a BD when they will only be used a handful of times? Likewise why even have it advertised all over NC if its only to be used during missions?

My guess is, its cut content.

I personally think they could take a different approach to BDs than what they are in the game currently.

Personally what I could imagine as a feature in BD form are individual replayable missions/quests in a completely different setting than the main story. Like you play through the BD story as someone else. I know currently the BDs are fixed events, but making them more flexible could open up more opportunities. Obviously I'm talking about non porn BDs.

Yes please.

Go into Lizzie's bar, get a nice BD with a sexy girl/guy doing naughty things.

We're talking about that sort of BD right?

I would think that would be VR, the key to BDs is usually experiencing some one else's life/feeling/perceptions. They have both ingame though, so they could definitely add that type of content.

Well since we cannot experience the emotions directly through the video game, BDs in their current form are just cutscenes. Imo making them interactable would open up more creative options.

We can use BD for fun activities: Shooting range BD, the obvious sex ones, investigations and like many said triggring quests through them or finding interesting info about a character while tackling a quest. There are many evidences that BD were in game and playable but got cut and reduced to junk to quickly release the game. Imagine finding a Fighting game BD? That's something I want to see play out. I say let CDPR know we want it BACK and we want to play or run one at ANYTIME ingame not during some quests.
