Why a lot of people want BD?

+
in the shops, you can get porn BDs but you cant watch them, that would be cool to have some
It just says i dont have the required hardware. Mayhaps a future DLC or patch. Would be cool to be able to buy flicks and stuff to watch in your apartment. Watson Whore looks hillarious and dark

Thats interesting because we as players, kind of already have that in the hud. We can see floor plans in the minimap, enemies, interactable objects.

If you add in ping/legendary ping Quick hack, you actually can do that, and its clearly part of the purpose of it.

Not the same thing really. I am not using implants, I am old school character with only the government mandated implants and putting my perk points into the less TEC options. That is where old school (relatively I mean, original equipment is very old as indicated to in one of the mission) BD tech would come in and the augmented reality visors which is REALLY old school for 2077.

But you are not totally wrong, your point was a good one.

thats cool, and one thing I liked about the game, I had one relatively low tech character, and they had to approach things fairly differently. Not sure I considered ping quick hacks as too much tech. I basically only enhanced parts I already had to change, so eye, hand, and Operating System.

Another thing I only realized recently is we have access to a way higher level of tech than most thugs. We basically eventually get access to corporate high end level cyberware.

But yeah I honestly feel one of the biggest reasons players feel like its not open world enough, or choices don't matter, is because they don't limit their choices. The game plays very differently if you decide to be an anticop, pro Valentino, no excessive cyberware handgun and body focused guy, or a Pro Law Netrunner Who only takes legally justifiable cases.

Besides, why should a BD always have to be editable?

I hope the people clamoring for BDs realize this. We can't have extensive BD implementation (If there ever is any, that is) while also making all the BDs fully interactive, that's just not gonna happen considering how much work it would take. If you're willing to accept that non-quest BDs would, realistically, only be simple scripted cutscenes then I'll agree it is perfectly doable, but otherwise you're living in a pipe dream

Wouldn't it be wonderful if there were more investigative, noir-like side missions from finding some random BDs while exploring the dark corners of a city?

Or what about those adult BDs they sell at the adult store? Are they just junks then?

I could think of a few. BD is a wasted potential on the story, which is its own shortfall. What a damn waste.

If they were a good company they would have revealed: "Hey gamers! We delivered what you wanted but as an extra surprise you have the option to do the BD in VR - just chip in you VR set and enjoy!".. But it's CDPR, so no.

BD is a fairly well designed mechanic that is completely glossed over with the exception of two or three quests. What I found most frustrating was that in the BD tutorial one of the things it teaches you is that you can hack the camera in the shop to see who shot the robber. That is a mechanic that you NEVER make use of again in any future BDs. So clearly something was planned for it and then later cut out.

Similarly, the heat signature mode is hardly ever used outside the planning for The Heist.

It's got a lot of potential for some cool quests/tasks but never really used. I'm hoping we're going to see a DLC that implements it more heavily (i.e. a detective work quest series maybe?).

Because some of us would love to see V watch V crucify some guy from the perspective of the crucified.

BD is a huge part of the world of Cyberpunk 2077. The main function it is not to solve crimes

BD is used to experience life in the eyes of another person. It is extremely addictive and can fcked you up

The entire society revolves around it

it is the equivalent of our today’s social media + hollywood + streaming services (all combine into one media)

It is such a shame BD was cut from the game

you know when you watched The Witcher on Netflix and see Geralt casting only once or twice Signs? Yeah, that’s the feeling of playing Cyberpunk 2077 without “normal BDs”

In my honest opinion; I'd like to see BD material, unlock side quest.

Picture it like this. Imagine purchasing or finding a BD. For all we know, the BD could be rather big. But while doing the BD, you uncover the identities of newer characters. It would be rather cool to see CDPR create another Panam/Judy style character for V to meet in Night City. When you finally meet the character in person, she tells you that she is a Night Corp board member. Just like any board, there are always members that have shady business going on. So when you meet her, she gives you an offer to help her found out who is doing dirty business with Arasaka.

I'd like to see CDPR play around with a big BD side quest, like this. By doing it, it unlocks so many new things for V to do.

Well whats the use of the BD outside investigation or forensic?

I can think only about "bad things" it range from mildly bad to very very very verry very bad thing (considering the game, Evelyn Parker is one example, or the BD tutorial), prove me wrong

And please dont say because they have promised us BD
Because it is part of the lore :)

As they write here, BDs are like youtube is for people today:

The Braindance in original Cyberpunk lore very closely matches how the technology is depicted in Cyberpunk 2077, but in a very different context and manner. The braindance for average people in Cyberpunk lore is more often used as an enhanced virtual reality simulation, rather than an investigative tool as V uses it. Braindance functions more as another form of mass media, used to simulate the real-life events of another person vividly within the braindance user's body. Simulations in braindance record and display visuals as seen by the person's sight, emulates physical stimuli and muscle movements, as well as invokes emotions that the particular person felt in that moment, but within the braindance user's brain instead. It's essentially a full-body experience that simulates another person's memories neurologically.

In their official form, braindances are edited and managed by corporations and sold to the general public as forms of entertainment. Basically how in real-life how people can search up YouTube videos for instructions or watch Netflix for documentaries, people in Cyberpunk lore can typically use braindances to learn new things more efficiently or experience historical events pseudo-firsthand. Braindances can also be used as a form of emotional therapy. But braindances can also be recorded and acquired illegally using the black market, which can be very dangerous for viewers, especially if it's a "flatline" braindance (source person dies during braindance recording).

The issue as I see it, is that CP2077 doesn't really explore or make very good use of it, the first few times you do them, its pretty cool with all the stuff, switching between layers etc. But then it just becomes annoying, because first of all its scripted so its the same every single time, secondly there is no exploration in them everything is handed to you on a silverplate.

I think Angryjoe in this example demonstrate, pretty well how it feels once you have done BDs once:

Since BDs allow for anything basically, CDPR could have done so much more with this idea than they have. As it is now, I would personally prefer that it was just a cutscene or completely skippable, because they are not funny the second time, but are simply a waste of time.

Also I have my suspicion given the amount of effort put into the interface of BDs and hints from earlier trailers, that they had much bigger plans with them than what we are presented with in the game at the moment.

Honestly, I was dying to spend hours watching BDs on CP2077. When I realized that the only thing I would get is that crap detective bs... yeah... “I got No Man Skyed”
Post automatically merged:

At this point, I really doubt CDPR will release any heavy BDs in line with the lore. Our only hope is that they pave the way so the mod community can finish it.

My mistake, my HUGE mistake was buying the book “The World of Cyberpunk 2077”

I was promised a heavy R-Rated world... this game is a “wanabe-hardcore/PG-13”. A “Disney version of R-Rated”

Because it's fun.

There are a couple of things that I would like for BD though. 1. Make it real VR, for VR and PS VR users. (The whole game included)

2. The ability to make a BD scroll. The photomode pics obtained from reviewing a BD could be phenomenal, but it would be cool to get other players to put a skit together, then save it so other players could watch it. Like walking around with a VR camera ingame, capturing the footage and letting other players find and watch it. Maybe the VR camera could be setup remotely so you could get some good action recordings or something.

For instance: When Dex gets shot in the head at the dump, it be cool to have recorded it, and then go back and get some photos of various things, or just rewatch it in 360.

Another example: The sex scenes would be cool in VR

And one last one: A group of online players get together and greet whoever is watching, they might be just sitting around chugging some beers and working on a tank and wave to you when you walk by. But it would be a cool thing.

bds have a lot of potential, but they are very time consuming to make, it's an interactive movie with lots of animation, dialog, and multiple layers of scripting triggers

the dream bd quest with rivers demonstrates a creative use of bd. i'm not sure if it was a bug or not, but there was a scene where you walk though plastic sheets and on the other side was a human figure that disappeared as soon as you crossed over. it was a great moment regardless if it was by accident.

but i would be lying if i said i didn't hanker for more death's head moth footage. deep fried was a work of art.

Bds would be a great way to:

1. Introduce/flesh out some cool characters in the game, relive the past or some dramatic events from their perspective

2. Start a gig/mission instead of only text. Like a perspective of the victim of a murderer you are going to zero (Personally I want to see the moment of someone becoming cyberpsycho! and murders everyone in sight)

3. Fun activity in clubs that are everywhere in Vanilia City (that won't happen due to heavy retarded western countries censorship) or at least a concert of LIzzy Wizzy or Johnny, perhaps funny adv etc. Give us something.

4. You can tell some great stories that way. As you can't change the course of action and only "relive" the scene, you can show how ugly, terrible Night City is. How small and insignificant people are. (for example you can experience being stripped of all cyberware while conscious by crazy ripperdoc)

5. How great would it be if there was a BD circulating on the street in which V kills a gang from some passerby perspective? I would find it awesome.

6. There could be BDs of some corpo machinations behind the scenes that are influencing whole city. Great way to introduce some nice themes of conspiracy on high corporate lvls.

7. You could relieve arresting some gongs by NCPD from their perspective or experience some rescue mission done by Trauma Team on high value client.

8. Wouldn't it be funny to see BD of some poor choom that got locked in one of those Delamain cars that got broken and are driving endlessly through the city?

9. Possibilities are endless. Generally immersion would skyrocket.
