Why are we accepting this silently?
We are currently in a world in economic crisis, just recently our danish prime minister said something along the lines of "we have hard times ahead of us, and we must all make our sacrifices in a joint effort to get through this". I'm sure leaders and politicians all over the world is singing that tune.
Yet the citizens of this world did not cause it, they went about their daily lives and did what they always did; suddenly there's a crisis, and we all have to do our part. ...Why is that? The ones who asks us to tighten our belts aren't cutting their own paychecks or their own lifestyles down in size.
Our world seeks higher and higher forms of technology; but in that quest we remove our own seats in the jobmarket. Things can be done over the internet today which couldn't before so less deskclerks are needed in social service areas, we use more robotics etc. etc.
Yet our society tells us that we are only good and acceptable people if we do our bit; get a job and buy stuff so the wheels keeps turning. And everywhere we go we are hammered down by pictures of things we would like to own; dreams and goals.
The more money the banks pulls out of thin air, the higher prices on products will go, because we as a whole has got more and more money to spend on things. So we need more money; get a new loan. That's not a viable longterm way of doing things! .. Those are symptoms of a wobbly system that's bound to crash and burn eventually.
But all politicians are telling us, is:

..and all it takes is for people to stop participating in this madness in a coordinated manner; madness that teaches us to become numb when we hear about people dying in a war because we've been taught to believe that it's a necessity for us to be able to live and have freedom.
We enslave each other simply by doing nothing, and by not standing together in union.
When did we become so numb and enslaved?
