Why can't we drop quests and reacquire them?

Why can't we drop quests and reacquire them?

I've only had three that were buggy - so far - but why can't we just drop them and reacquire them, you lknow like every other CRPG ever made?

I like the idea that quest have multiple outcomes, some that may not be positive. If you want to redo a quest a different way, just load a save.
