Why do I know Sigi Reuven?

I´ve played The Witcher 1 and The Witcher 2 (both with the Scoia´tel storyline) some time ago but I can´t remember when or how I met Sigismund Dijkstra. I´m wondering about this because I just met him in The Witcher 3 and he said something about how I broke his ankle. Can someone give me a leg up about this? Did it happen only in the books? Haven´t read them.

Yes it happened in the books. Witcher 3 is Dijkstra's first game.

As above.

However if you pay attention to detail in Witcher 1 you might meet a Bootblack in Vizima's Temple Quarter. Doing his quest leads to his identity being Ori Reuven in the books.

I know he looks like every old man in the game.

Yes I understand that all the book readers will complain about anyone who hasn´t read the books, but I´ll read them soon enough, don´t you worry about that. And besides I did talk to this very bootblack in TW1 but that didn´t really help me out with understanding who Sigi himself is.

In the books, Ori Reuven was kind of a writer/clerk/personal assistent of Sigismund Dijkstra. Actually he was prisoned etc. and died later in poverty.
As Dijkstra found out that some want to kill him he could escape and then he took the name Sigi Reuven, a combination of his own first name and his former assistent's surname.
