Why does V sleep like an idiot on her/his bed?

+
V is refered as the fool, by Misty. T-Bug also mentioned V has mastered the way of the fool. V is the fool. V is gonk.
Fool is a great power in this game. That's how V survives Arasaka in all the endings. Secret ending is legendary fool power.

I sleep with my face in the pillow. Always have been as far as I can remember. Don't ask me how but I've never had any breathing problems doing that. Whenever I try sleeping in any other position, I feel kinda suffocated; especially if I try sleeping sideways. Never consumed alcohol, got 'high' or been so exhausted to the point that I sleep the way my V does either. :)

@Spockprime - Maybe I should just try sleeping with pooches like yours, eh!
Expect to be kicked, drooled on, sneezed on, barked at for no apparent reason, wake up cold with your sheets and blankets having been taken, and far too often subjected to smelling really bad gas. It's almost as bad as a spouse.

Why does V sleep like an idiot on her/his bed, who sleeps side ways like that??
She/he doesn't.

Non-idiot people sleep in all kinds of ways. Here some good examples - https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/...apture-worlds-unusual-sleeping-positions.html . Certainly you wouldn't think _all_ those folks are idiots, now would ya?

In general, one should never, ever assume someone's an idiot only from how / where they sleep. Perhaps you do not know, but it's entirely normal for normal people in certain circumstances to be _so_ damn sleepy that they can sleep literally in any position, in any place, no matter nothing. And it's perfectly normal.

For example, i once "managed" to fall asleep while walking one long corridor in the campus. I was sleeping and walking in the same time, yes. It happened after very intense night of studying, while walking with friends towards one big convention about to happen. And so, my friends woke me up at the end of the passage - so i wouldn't smash into the wall at the end. Without them, i'd keep walking in full sleep and hit the wall for sure.

Related Question: Why is the bed on the FLOOR? That’s uncomfortable and inefficient.

* More difficult to get in and out of bed
* Huge waste of space (could have storage below)
* Encourages V to walk on the bed to get to her shelves in that nook
* Where’s the mattress? In a depression in the floor? Weird.

Also Interesting: When we see V’s neighbor’s apartment as part of a quest, the bed is raised off the floor as you’d expect. In fact, it looks a lot like the bed in the E3 video where we saw a cinematic of V (and a date) getting out of bed in the morning.

EDIT: Speaking of dates, I just realized there are quests where you sleep with an NPC and at least one of them features V getting out of a normal-height bed by sliding down and getting up at the foot. If they had made V’s bed normal height and reoriented it, they could have reused that animation!

Also I note that one post-date cinematic in the game has V wakes up naked, on top of the covers of the perfectly made bed. You know, like always happens when you have fallen asleep in bed after sex :)

Sleep is sadly useless. The only option they'd really have to give it a purpose. Is to instant heel the player. So you don't waste med packs. Even than, later upgrades make this moot. There's no redecorating. The storage system is worthless. Can't have sex. Every function that could make it useful, is not there. Even the cat doesn't die. Not even showering is used to clean V. Why the rooms aren't fast travel points, I don't know. Fast travel is already dumb logic.

Why is fast travel a dumb logic?
As for the apartment - yes, sadly it is really underused imo. My assumption is that it is from an earlier...plan (before they had such a fast-paced main quest) where the game was supposed to be much more open world and allow you to RP and live in NC for a longer span of time.

It is pretty strange and I think about it every time I sleep. It's the same with Eivor in AC Valhalla. Nobody sleeps that way. I mean seriously, do any of the devs or QA people play the game before it's released??

Nomad - used to sleep on dirt and rocks in the desert, don't need fancy pillows.
Street Kid - used to sleep under the bridge, mattress is luxurious enough.
Corpo - Sleeping without pillows will help your back extend, this will reduce stress on your neck, you will rest in a natural position without any aches.

The first time when V crawls into bed, the animation makes sense. It looks like the developers took the "easy" way and just copied that animation for the rest of the sleep prompts instead of developing a proper animation for regular sleep.

As someone that likes to take the time to RP V living in her apartment, I find options are very limited. And then the few options they do provide, are mostly half-ass implemented.

For example:
  • Bed: 1/2 sleeping in bed, perpendicular to the pillows and always on top of sheets;
  • PC: checking your non-existent email
  • Couch: Can't sit on the couch and listen to radio
  • TV: it's 90% ads or repeat news shows with a few talk-show exceptions that also are very repetitive. Most of the time you seen these already in elevators or whatnot.
  • Nibbles: you can't pet the cat after it becomes your cat.
  • Closet: You can't add your clothes to it and it multiplies the clothes CDPR put inside as you level, resulting in dozens of the same item -- making the closet pretty much unusable.

Then you consider the other missed opportunities for things that aren't even implemented 1/2-way and it's ugh....

Would've been nice if your closet would contain any stashed clothes, like a real closet would. In my save, I completely emptied the closet and recycled everything, since it was all useless, anyway.

Fully agree that the apartment is pretty useless for RP'ing. Not much options to realistically kill time, should you find yourself home early.

I completely get it. My girl has done the same and I am on a queen sized bed. Was even worse when I had my king. And she is just one dog. xD Her farts would wake me from a heavily medicated sleep. Now she sleeps with her nana because my door is closed due to the window being open, fan on and vents closed in freezing temps.

Oh and my V seemed to sleep 'normal' in that crappy place...umm..Sunset Motel? I think it was? On that nasty bed. *shiver*
