Why has blood on the sword been removed?

After every fight in Witcher 2, Geralt's sword would be visibly stained with blood.

I can't help but notice that Witcher 3 seems to be lacking bloodstains on the sword even after Geralt dismembers several enemies.

I think it would be a better idea if you bring this up on the Witcher 3 Wishlist thread, and ask the developers to create the blood on the sword after fights effect for Witcher 3..
We don't know if it's removed or not, because they may add the effect later on. One of the REDs said that the blood is still being worked on, so I would not be surprised if it's added later on in the development.
