The source for this hasn't been cited yet. As usual on the internet, take nothing for granted just because someone says so.By the way, I don't have any particular interest in seeing Geralt naked, I just think it should be same rights for all.

Earlier quote has the source but here is the link in Polish section - http://tw2.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=28250.4275 ( Check Blooddragon post - he is RED )

Pyjamas and other sleeping garment are a recent invention. People in medieval age slept simply in the nude or with their clothes on if it was cold. This is aswell common folks, so it would be unlogical if they had any specific sleeping garment.

They wore undergarments. They were not the same as today's underwear but they served the same purpose. Here's a quote from Wikipedia:"In the Middle Ages, western men's underwear became looser fitting. The loincloth was replaced by loose, trouser-like clothing called braies, which the wearer stepped into and then laced or tied around the waist and legs at about mid-calf."This appears to be what Geralt is wearing in the video when he wakes up and gets out of bed.

What do you mean by "same rights for all'? I thought this was a video game, not a political campaign. How is CDPR infringing upon your rights by making Geralt wear underwear to bed when he sleeps? It's a normal thing to do, especially if he just spent a night with Triss. Most men must take a leak after having sex and I'm sure Geralt wasn't going to go prancing around an army camp nude.

you know, that is a great explanation, I haven't though of it. Makes perfect sense. So all this complaining is just stupid.

I wasn't talking about my own personal rights, what I meant was simply the following: If they show women completely naked they should show men too.

Looks at the quote above your post. This is an everyday situation, why should Geralt be naked all the time, even when it is illogical? I don't want CDP to become a victim if too much fanservice. Remember what happened to Bioware when there were similar complaints about the game's romance? They made ALL romancable character bisexual. Do you want something similar to happen to the witcher (too much fanservice & geralt being naked half of the time?) Next thing is when women are romancable why not men etc.

I'm not saying he should be naked all the time. Fighting monsters pants-free would probably even be a little too much for the white wolf. Since he apparently will be naked at appropiate points I'll let that issue lie. Honestly if you can shape a game character by your own decisions why not give the possibility to make the character gay or bi? Especially for a character like Shepard who is just so vague you have to make him up yourself. Of course Geralt is established as quite hetero through the books and letting him stay in character here makes more sense, but overall I don't see the problem.

That's not the next thing, that's an oooold question.Might not even be out of character, since Geralt doesn't give a rat's arse about morals of other people, he knows they are often corrupted anyway. He's a man with a strong sex drive due to his nature and he just does his thing. He's not dependent on other people's opinion of him (he's an outcast anyway). And he doesn't strike me as the homophobic type if a situation arose when he might be intrigued by a person who happened to be male. But of course, in reality we are NOT talking about Geralt here, but about the straight white male gamer (tm), who doesn't "need" any additional fanservice, because his world is fine the way it's been. ;)

Why does everyone think the companions are bisexual? They are not. They are what the player wants them to be and since your character in game is always the same gender for the whole playthrough, the preference of your romance interest stays the same. They will not have any romantic interactions with other characters. They are hero-sexual. Which is pretty much perfect in my book. :DAnd a little logic appeal to males with possible homophobic tendencies: in an RPG, if the developers did a good job, the best case is that you identify with the hero on screen, right? So there is really no need to be scared to see his naked bum, if it's basically yours, only better. ;)

That said although I approve a naked Geralt (due to realism) the world is still very "taboo" about nudity in game and in general, men are more homophobic than women which always results in a problem when releasing games.Breasts in games are simply a big "Yay" while penises are a big "Nay" from the male gamers who still belongs to the general gaming community (although alot of females play games)....

I am not against feminism, heck, I consider myself to be one. It's how the movement has been twisted into the massive pile of bull it presently is that I can no longer agree with. The term feminazi is meant to ridicule those fueled by an irrational belief that females are exploited in all walks of life and men are nothing but rape-machines and going apeshit over anyone who disagrees; not feminists in general. Kind of like how ridiculing PETA for its extremist views on animal rights doesn't mean one is against animal cruelty. The use of 'nazi' in feminazi is used to ridicule those with extremist views and not to draw parallels between the National Socialists and them. It is unlike how the word is spammed by the Republicans just to call something bad. But you are right, using the word isn't a right thing to do. This only serves to dilute the stain that is on the nazi movement.

You didn't have to quote my entire post to add a line, you know. It isn't about me liking penises, I don't, if that makes a difference to you. What I can't understand is how someone can assume that an entire demographic has the same tastes.

The straight.... what? Could be anything. Like nails. And do you mean to imply that the straight 'whatevers' are the only ones who play games or the only ones, games should be made for? All kinds of people enjoy playing games, you know. Even female ones, mature ones, pretty ones and silly ones. Why should only the opinions of "most of you" be taken into account about the content of the games? Why is it not ok to make a game for everyone? Loosen up a little and try not to discount every person who is not you.Anyway, we already know that the open minded ones will have their fun in many ways and I'm pretty sure it won't hurt my eyes to see male or female game characters on my screen. :D

Because most people are not okay with penises. I DONT WANT TO SEE fu*** penises in games. WTF. If you want penises soo badly why dont you hack the game and make a mod for it. Or better yet see your own. If you are male.Holy S*** Are we seriously discussing for penis in game or not. I mean incredible. What small % of people would want to see penis in a video game.

Morally they are in my eyes. Otherwise they just fall into the "baiting male players by sexist means" category.Since they say there will be male nudity I suppose everything is fine.
I am sure Geralt doesn't go about screwing 90% of the female population.

That is only because game developers (or any media makers for that matter) tend to make only "attractive" characters. CDPR could just as well make some chubby/short/taller/small-breasted/whatever characters. Males are apparently allowed to be ugly, women are not. I'm just waiting for a game that makes normal people. This constant "your body has to look this way or it isn't right" is sickening.

Its wrong to call this 'sexist means', that would mean that they deliberately showed females in poor light to appease males. Titillation would be a better word, no? And so what if they do that? And what is wrong with them doing this? Isn't Geralt portrayed as a badass to attract people? How is titillation any different?

My point is that Geralt sleeps with only attractive females and that they don't constitute 90% of the female population.

I absolutely agree with you. Here's my opinion from another thread"...Because, you know it's curious that you think that this Geralt looks sooooo badass, so awesome.... but I'm not sure you would think the same of a female character, which in videogames are always "dolls", those dolls from DA2 you are talking about. In this case, who's spreading a worst light on male gamers is not me, but this hateful chauvinist world!..."I want to give you a hug. I mean, this has been my gripe with video games since like forever. Make the woman seem to look like the she fits the role she has been given rather than a supermodel every, single time. I for one would like to see an older, scarred Triss but then again, she's a sorceress.

They have, remember old lady NPC model Vaska ;) A lot of these characters are how they have been described in the books, sorceresses use magic to change their body so they become more beautiful than your average women, so Triss is supposed to have a "supermodel body"(Which I remember was what spawned this whole line of discussion).TW1 also had the issue of a limited budget, CDPR was only able to create a number of standardized bodies, we've already seen TW2 has at least some more variety, I don't remember that tortured lady(The arlessa?) having a knockout supermodel body.
