Why is TW2 not picking up TW save game

I just purchased TW2 EE for PC and I got a new PC so I went on my old laptop found TW save game (the one I wanted) and burned it to a disc then moved to my docts when I hit new game it says import unavailable I was like wtf? Any help about this problem Also I have a 6670 Radeon HD gpx card on my new PC and when I play I play on high spec why does it lag at all (I know it isnt my gpx card)any help is appreciated

Not sure but maybe you need to install the first game and put it in the save folder.

The 6670 is actually a sub-minimum card for this game. You can expect poor frame rate at high settings; it will do better with low to medium settings and reduced (less than 1920x1080 or 1600x900) resolution.

You do not need the first Witcher installed. Put the save game in your Witcher 2 gamesaves folder (My Documents\Witcher 2\gamesaves), then start a new game, and you will be asked whether to import it. (The save game must be from near the end of the first Witcher: the Ice Plains or the Flaming Rose.)

I moved the very last save I had (an autosave) from TW1 save folder to TW2 savegames, as suggested above, but still no results. I'm technically challenged, but any help will be appreciated.

12G RAM, 5G used, 11G available

Direct X 11

If you open that save in TW1, where exactly are you? I'm concerned that the save is not late enough.

Once you have the save loaded in TW1, replay the end of the game

until you take the loot from the Grandmaster's corpse

then make a manual save before the game ends. Try importing that save.

Got it. Thank you. Somehow, some of my saves disappeared, so I had to redo the Ice Plain all over again, but it worked.
