Why Many Players Not Giving GG

+
I personally don't always give GG, a lot of the time I don't if I'm honest. Several reasons for why, if they used cheap tactics or OP cards to win, if I lose due to sheer bad luck or them getting seriously lucky, rather than skill or sometimes I'm just plain in a bad mood from losing too many games in a row.

Honestly, I use GG mainly as a reward for people who play non-meta and homebrew decks. They made the extra effort to be creative and face an uphill battle against netdeckers. They also add to the variety of the game and by extension my enjoyment of it. Why shouldn't they get a little something extra?

I do the same, rewarding novelty, imagination, or innovation.

Lately, i've also been facing more newbies than usual, dont know if they were attracted by the new Arena Mode or whatever.

Now i always GG players below level 30, even when they dont know what they're doing and thus said "game" is definitely not "good", but i feel like i need to support them, with positive incentive and the extra scraps and ore.

Also, NR feels so weak and stale that i GG players using that faction, even when they're using the same ol' cards ive seen a million times - as i know how hard it is to make something creative and minimally decent with that faction.

maybe more people are not GGing because they realize the general view of a gwent player to them is a negative one. i'm not talking about basic individuals, i'm talking about the overall view people may have of a general face of the mob...i know that is the case for me. i'm tired of the constant complaining, too many netdecks, so quick to attack any idea, etc else that gives the overall view of a group of people acting like <insert derogatory name here> that has tainted the whole for me.

i rarely give a GG. i'll give one if:
- when playing, you don't make me say to myself, "what a <insert derogatory name here>"
- recognize a name of someone from the community and recall them in a positive light. its rare i remember anyone like that, but i recalled DRK3 when playing him, and i GG'd him
- interesting non-netdeck

people love to lose!

(I really hate why I cant post a new thread... and have to spam 10 other threads with silly answers just to get my own thread)

As a rule I expect the winner to take the responsibility of GG-ing first. It shows goods character and ultimately the loser likely needs the resources more (seeing as they lost). If I win I always GG right away period, full stop, no exceptions. If I lose I don't GG unless my opponent does within a reasonable amount of time. In the event of draws it just depends on how the game went though I'll usually GG first if for no other reason then to encourage my opponent to do the same.

I'll also withhold GG in the event of excessive use of cheap cards or tactics. I try not to be a bad sport about things but certain things just don't seem right to me. There have also been a few cases in which my opponent was unrelenting with the canned in-game banter. Being annoying is not a good way to engender goods sportsmanship.

Fine if people want to mash emojis and send out taunts, but I never do it unless somebody does it to me first and I'm obviously going to beat them. It's just not for me and I'll never GG somebody who does it.

I no longer gg Imlerlith: Sabbath. Card is ridiculous. Everything else I gg unless forfeit at the start.

It can be easily removed from the game with Mandrake.

You can always mute them, if you want.

Sometimes after somebody (me or the opponent) forfeits I don't even get the option to send GG. (and the results and progress bars doesn't get displayed, just the tabs. I can switch between them, but no content showing up)

i refuse to ever give a PC player a GG again.

they should unite with xbox players regarding the horrible state of the servers. but not only do they not care, some of them revel in it and laugh at us as we struggle with so many disconnects.

so if they wanna act like that, then they don't deserve a GG.

If you are on console I don't know why you would play against pc players in the first place, they have a pretty nice advantage over you with gwentup. Disable cross play, one problem solved.

Got to admit though, it's sooooo satisfying to beat them when they clearly think they've got an unbeatable play up their sleeves, and you shut it down one card later.

GG is not mandatory. If one of the players think it wasn't a good game, that's ok, move on to the next match. The only things I refuse to GG are Imlerith Sabbaht (don't have mandrake right now? sorry, you lost), Ciri Nova (too much value for too little effort) and reveal decks (hate this archetype).

See that's what I'm sayin'. If they've taunted me like that and I know I've got the final winning move? I will ALWAYS mash "Something amiss?" Always.

Hey man I sympathize because before I tried it I thought this too. But have you tried including her? You have to self-gimp by making a 26 card deck and potentially have some really terrible shuffles, mulligans, etc. It's not "too little effort" when you consider all that. I have respect for people who can manage to have a 26 card "two bronzes" deck and make it work at this point.

I've played with her yes for a time, and still think it's too much value for to little restrictions. I can't speak about the high ends of ladder, but around rank 10-15, where I usually stay (and yes, i'm pretty confortable with this, I'm casual - not ubber competitive) it's a VERY RIDICULOUS card .

And by the way, I'm not a "man", but a girl :)

Man was meant to be gender neutral like "dude" in that context but point taken. ;)

I've been treading water with my stupid Dagon/Ciri deck at 19 and while it's never an uncommon thing to see around here it's not a plague, either. The self-gimp hurts a lot and you really have to have a good way of justifying her inclusion, imo.

The only time im tempted to not gg is when you've lost and passed on round three, and then the opponent decides to play his or hers last few cards.

I mean ok, play one extra card just incaaaase you've missed something. But when they play their second card (or more, if i've really, really sucked) it just feels like they're going "Oo look at how great the rest of my hand was" kinda thing.
