Why new game plus doesn't excite me..

Well, i really liked the witcher 3, and i am currently on my second playthrough trying to do almost every quest and do every side activity (bandit camps, monster nests..) in the game. I am in death march for this playthrough (finished the game in bbb). But apart from white orchard, the game cannot handle a new game +. Mabe not even a second playthrough. The first time is fucking awsome, an expirience, an epic adventure that you take time from other activities to indulge in. However, knowing the consequences and the main story, the game doesn't really allows for a second playthrough due to the fact that it is extremely easy. EVEN IN DEATHMARCH. I play to get the lost story bits and see some different outcomes, as a read the books, and i understand the references, which is fucking awsome, but the gameplay is just too easy. I mean, i am level 18, i am in novigrad, haven't
done the play to attract dudu's attention and thus the dandelion's missions, that could even give me another level.

The suggested level for skeligge is 16 and i am already overleveled. So well the gameplay is a factor to promote other playthoughs. So an advice for new game plus. Make it unforgiving. I shouldn't die because i underestimated an enemy. I should die because the game is difficult. Then, the game will shine and new game plus would be pretty interesting.

Hmmm I'm going to change my response because it seemed a little bit inappropriate with the sarcasm. But I gotta disagree with you overall. I'm going to reserve my opinion until we actually get the New Game +

I agree. I consider the first 10 levels of my playthroughs on DM (when you don't have a significant number of skill points invested yet) to be the most exciting. Afterwards, the game gets easier and easier. The prospect of playing the game again but with all major skills unlocked from the get-go (not to mention the possibility of equipments getting transferred too) isn't very exciting. Of course, a way to solve that problem would be to make new game plus so difficult (not artifical difficulty like monsters having increased hp, but a smarter AI and maybe mobs being more numerous) that having all skills unlocked would be vital.

I remember a lot of pre-release grudge about alchemy system and gwent on this forum. Turned out not bad, eh?

I'm not a fan of NG+ concept in general, but would hold my thoughts until release of DLC.

yeah for those who enjoy a good challenge newgame+ does not seem to be a good thing.... if it doesnt handle the difficulty right .... hope there will be a new difficulty some day

I was just wondering the same question. Will NG+ be harder and have slower leveling? It wouldn't be hard for them to increase enemy health/damage exponentially as you rise in levels.

EDIT: This is especially important because in NG+ you start with 30-60 skill points. It would be nice to have that White Orchard on-death-march difficulty throughout the entire game. Then I would think twice before attacking a group of bandits, and looting guarded treasure would feel just that much more rewarding.

Well, i want to say that witcher 2 is my favourite game ever and witcher 3 comes after it. I love...not, i adore the games, but the fact that the witcher 3 is easy cannot be denied. So, new game plus, should be tough, cause the gameplay is good, fun and enjoyable...in early levels as it is tough. Then it remains good and enjoyable, but not fun as you exterminate everything that dares oppose you. (it is fun when you cut your enemies in half....but not fun as in the beginning where you die from wolves...although i understand that some enemies like wolves, nekkers, bears, shouldn't give you a hard time, but everything else should pose a threat. A REAL THREAT

I can almost guarantee that if it's harder it won't be because of a better AI or even more mobs. More mobs will kill fps on consoles and they are already strained with patch 1.07. And it will take a very long time to get a better AI.

So if NG+ is harder, which I also doubt, it will be due to scaling of monsters (more hp more damage) only.

But TW2 was very easy so why is that one super great in your opinion but TW3 not?

I'm not exited for NG+. I think the game don't need it.

I also think a plenty of the people who want a NG+, would be way happier with a full re-balance of death march mode or a extra difficulty mode over death march.

I just hope CDProjekt don't get themselves in trouble for this.
Have you read the connected / unconnected stash dra... I mean ... debate?

We dont know yet ....thats why I wrote "if" ..... As of know it seems only logical that things get easier when you start with better gear and skillpoints ... Im already playing on death march.... so from my point of view , newgame+ only seems to make things easier...

for ppl who played on lower difficulty this feature might be good thing, because they can start ng+ on an higher difficulty(which they couldnt handle before) ... but if you are like me and play on death march already , it seems " that it might not handle the difficulty right" ... Why? because if death march was too easy already , ng+ wont do any good if there isnt a higher difficulty to go with.... thats how I see it :) ...

Basicly its all about the difficulty for me :D.... Death March gets too easy too soon... already made a thread about why : http://forums.cdprojektred.com/thre...-Death-March-too-easy-!?p=1858717#post1858717

I'm not that excited about new game+ either, mainly because I beat the game 4 times now and am taking a break until the expansions so I don't burn out. But it would be interesting if New Game+ had a dead is dead difficulty option.

Not all of the free DLCs appeal to everyone. Some like the alt Yenn appearance, some don't. As such, they choose to use it or not as they prefer.

Some people won't like new game plus. Either they want to start from the beginning again or they don't plan to replay the game or they don't like how it is implemented (more details on this coming soon). We know that not everyone will play with NG+, but it was an extremely popular request, one that the team has worked hard to fulfill. We hope most people will give it a try and they will like it. However, if you don't, no worries. There is still the Expansion Pass materials starting later this year. Hopefully you'll prefer those more. :)

I'm pretty sure I will like the New Game + and play it all summer long!!!!

About that... can you speak to whether the team is open to making general gameplay improvements in the expansions in addition to adding new content? Or is it too early to talk about that?

I hope adjustments for harder death march difficulty / new difficulty become equally popular then^^...
The difficulty curve as of now (Death March) = Hard at beginning , normal at Mid-Game , easy at End-Game...
I would like to see a curve or rather a line where it keeps a constant hard difficulty ... Imo some skills / stats / monsters could need some adjustment on death march ... certain things are just too effective which does not change on higher difficulties... --> result --> hardest difficulty not realy hard enough ;)

But thats just the combat side(after having tons of experience)- "rambling with love on high lvl" .... looking forward to every new bit from this game..

My issue with ng+ is the new expansions. I want to play the expansions with my original choices. But if I'm going to play the game all over again I want to make new choices. So for example let's say I beat the game the first time lvl 35, then NG+ with different choices and get to lvl 70. What save do I use? I feel like I'll miss out if I use my original save.

Robmo the expansions should not influence the main story so none of the choices in the main game should have any impact on the expansions.

At least thats what we can assume now unless the devs state otherwise.
