Why no Colossus sized bosses like the Kayran?

One of the most interesting thing about TW 2 were the colossal bosses encountered at the end of each Act. The most memorable being the Kayran, the Golden Dragon and the Draugr.

Why can't we see more of those in TW 3? Most of the monsters, while brilliantly designed, didn't really give the epic feel.
I wish we could have more fight with monsters worthy of Dandelion's ballads and songs.

Problem with this is that the kayran fight was heavily scripted, almost to a point where its quicktime event-ish. In TW3 they went for a different approach and I honestly cant see how you could combine the grand monsters with the current design approach. I too would love to see some bigger monsters occasionally, but I dont see how they can pull it off if they wont deviate from their current monster/combat design. Personally, I felt the fights we are getting right now are grand enough. Maybe not as overly epic as the Kayran, but well worth your time and epic still. Leaving you with a great feeling after you finally defeated the monster. Especially with monsters you encounter for the first time(I still remember my first basilisk fight. Was pretty awesome and a true "whoa shit" moment for me. :D)

Yeah I suppose you're right. But still, there are plenty of chances for scripted events, like when you travel between worlds. I wouldn't mind going to an enclosed place for a period of time, to fight some bigger ass monsters.

Consoles? That's why we cant have everything else we didn't get :p

As appealing and convenient as it might seem for us PC players to blame everything bad on consoles, I dont think this has anything to do with consoles this time but with a very destinct design choice. Besides, even if it werent for consoles - and ignore the fact that the game wouldnt exist without consoles for a simple funding reason for a moment here - you can only fit so much into a single game and there have to be cuts made here and there. that is especially true for a studio like CDPR with a rather limited amount of manpower.

there are huge elementals i found in the games wild areas. i didn't like the kayran fight houh due to it being scripted just pushing aome keys or buttons. i like dynamic combat. so i'll pass the kayran thing

I would hope we have like at the tiny island far far away from the main islands that can only access by boat and once we landed appears a huge sea monster.

Was it the one that had an excruciatingly long unskippable cutscene before it? Boy, that was annoying.

Also dragons dogma,
This or Monster Hunter could be a far more useful source of inspiration, rather than namedropping something like Shadow of The Colossus, which isn't really a good fit for how the combat works here.

I wast just giving an example of a game with open environments and colossal monsters to slay. Shadow of Colossus was the first thing that came to mind. Dragon's Dogma and Monster Hunter are also really good examples, yeah.

Yea,

I'm glad they didn't go this direction for witcher 3 unless of course they can do it properly.. The quick time events in Witcher 2 were just god awful, the fact it was in several portions of the game made it even more annoying. So in general it was a smart move for them to do away with it for Witcher 3. It could also be on how the story was centered since it was based on the Wild Hunt, there are really no epic large scale monsters to deal with. On the other hand, we still have 2 big expansion DLCs left, so I'm sure we may see something similiar done right for witcher 3, so there could still be something.
