Uploaded a quick video of why I think Police is not in a good place in the game. Make your own judgment.

Abhorrently bad. All the GTA games on the PS2 have 10x better police, how did anyone at CDPR think this was acceptable?

LoL game doesnt even have to be GTA to have proper police system. Watch_Dogs and Mafia have better one too.
All this because of the lack of car AI. What CDPR bosses were even thinking? To make open world game with vehicles without vehicle AI?.. like, really?

I just used GTA because it the best and most common example but yes all other open world games have better police systems in them. It's a sad that anyone thought this was even close to passable.

Was it CDPR themselves that said all the issues with AI and crowds are bugs or is that just something we are speculating because it's less painful to believe that they just didn't work on it?

Exactly, man... Main problem is that you don't need to compare this game to GTA to understand the size of the issue.

What is worth mentioning. There is no reason to break the law in the current version of Cyberpunk. Gigs are legal, stealing something for a side mission is legal, attacking gang members is legal, quick hacking vendor machines ( for exp ) is legal, taking control over cameras is legal.

Everything is legal except shooting civilians or messing up with cops on the street.

So technicaly speaking, even if cops AI is improved, it wont change anything unless they overhaul entire law system in the game.

From a lore standpoint I don't think cops in NC would actually attempt to stop you unless you starting murdering people. NCPD has their hands more then full with a massive amount of murders. They don't have any time for theft, trespassing or basically anything that isn't murder in the open street of civilians.

Yet all the world encounters are done by V
Rarely you'll see A SINGLE COP, dealing with 4-5 thugs.

Not an excuse

Very good point. But stealing will not have much sense with current loot mechanics. We need loot mechanics overhaul. Now it's not just looter shooter. Now it's purely an MMO.

I helped the police once during a random shootout and after it was done they didn't even say thanks or notice me. The only incentive is looting the bodies which. Same thing during hostage situations.
I just want to be noticed.

It is a good question...it would go a long way if CD came out and said what they removed, or simply didnt have time to work on, left out, etc...I have a hard time believing the current AI and RPG rep aspects are what they planned...if so, yikes, they missed the mark big time. Maybe that's why we haven't gotten answers about the AI....because there are none?

Uploaded a new vid off how NPCs are broken. Literally this kind of crap happens only in Early Access and games that are not AAA+

I just feel like despite all the delays and so on, this game is still released prematurely. It wasn’t ready yet. Could’ve been much better. All the NPCs in the streets are just mannequins, body animations need quite some more work, police & wanted system is not even needed, it’s pointless. In Gta and red dead redemption, you’re literally a criminal, outlaw, so police system is important in those games but here I don’t know why it’s even needed. In a cyber world where your location can instantly be revealed by a simple scan, there’s no such thing as escaping or hiding from police anyway. If you’re a criminal, they can scan the entire city and pinpoint you easily. The whole thing doesn’t make sense to start with.

That's super weird. If they weren't developing AI, it means that on some stage of development they really decided that there will be open world game without required AI... I'm honestly shocked...

It's not that simple. Night City is huge megapolis. No, they can't catch criminal so easily. And there still crime exist. Some streets even completed controlled by gangs. Also this is 2077 but this is not our would. Ans this is retrofuturism. They should have been crime system. So, criminals and police, and their struggle. Just like in Judge Dredd or Ghost in the Shell, which are inspiration sources of CDPR.

And yes, people on the streets are just mannequins without proper AI, which is required for them.

The thing is the cops that are in the game, spawn right behind you, do not patrol the streets on foot or by car, do not chase you with a car. Literally a useless things that they started working on and said "a fuck it"
