Why The Witcher 3 will be better than Skyrim with ease...
First of all I want to say that im a big fan of RPGs , long before the Witcher series.
But never before I have been so excited about the release of new RPG coming out.
I want to discuss why and how this happened and why the Witcher 3 really will redifine RPG [Open Worlds] as the devs say it will , I totally believe it
...
Lets first go back some steps into the past... As an rpg enthusiast I always had my eye out for new rpg releases.
I always looked for rpgs with engaging combat mechanichs , style and hopefully a great story [you dont know that in advance] .
While some of the first games I played all had that, I was hooked for more
Then came the era of bethesda... some kind of new big entry to the rpg genre...
It kind of worked for the masses and so these games were succesful.
The vast big open worlds combined with some good story & fun mechanichs really took the throne for a long time..
Morrowind,Oblivion,Skyrim,Fallout , those were all great and fun.
But they all left me with an impression something is missing or went not so well...
What that is , I will say now...
Alot of people count Skyrim to their best RPGs ever,it was a good game so I wont say anything bad about it...
While the main storyline was kinda fun ,the rest of the world felt like a giant empty space to me ...
Like a plate full of rice ... everywhere you look at is the same .. the delicious parts to pick up are missing..
you get fed ,but you didnt feel like you have experienced something really great...
And this is where the Witcher 3 comes in ... they know how to cook..xD ähm make a good game by now ... They dont forget about the delicious parts , as they learned from skyrims experience ....
In various interviews I saw them talking about it , they called it points of interest ... parts aside from the story where you really want to go ... and thats the point...
When I heard skyrim had 100 of hours gameplay .. I thought to myself hmmm... 100 of hours walking around with nothing really interisting happening.. like you are some sort of delivery guy who gets chased by wild enimals from time to time xD...[sidequest -story wise]
In the Witcher we got really interisting charakters . In Skyrim the main charakter is like a empty shell everyone worships.... Geralt is a person ,just a little special & no real hero , someone you can relate to...
The choices you make in a Witcher game have impact , each conversation makes you thing who do you want to be ?
In Skyrim well it matters little what you think...
I hope to see more great Rpgs like the Witcher ... I look forward to the last installment and I will always look back ,as in my memory they are one of the best RPGs I have ever played
The Witcher got it all : A great story , engaging gamplay , wonderful graphics ... A series to be remembered, not just "a game" more like a wonderful tale/story .
