Why was braindance removed, especially since we can buy braindances?

Yeah, out of all the issues with the game he brings up "not enough female hookers". I agree that it's weird that there are only 2 prostitutes in ALL OF NIGHT CITY, but come on, there are more glaring issues with the game. Like all the bugs and performance issues.

That said, I also hope they add more prostitutes/one night stands to the game, a long with the ability to actually be able to go to a bar, sit down and a grab a drink, being able to eat at food stands, play the arcade machines, sing karaoke etc. The city is beautiful, probably the most gorgeous city I've seen in any game, ever, but there isn't a lot to do in it. I hope CD Projekt takes a look at the Yakuza games with all their side activities. I want to be able to lose myself in Night City, but the game won't allow me to, and that's a huge shame

The reason, for me at least, that this issue is important is because it kills the "immersion" aspect that CDPR has been pushing so damn hard with this game. What city this size only has one strip club? Why can I buy porn but can't view it? Why can I buy cars but I cant personalize them in any way? Why can't I get a haircut, or re-dye it? Why isn't there anything to do at my apartment? Etc, etc, etc. all of these add up to really kill the mood of the game.

Bugs are bad, but bugs can be fixed. Adding content, though? That's a different issue all together.

There are other prostitutes, you just can not interact with them. There is a low number of NPC that you can interact with. So I went to this big market... many, many people and vendors around, and I could not talk to anybody.

I am sorry this actually PISSES me off too much!! Clearly this is cut content. CDPR The more I play this the more I realize how barren things are. I am not angry about the poor launch or the performance bug etc I know they will be fixed, but the amount of stuff you have cut that has to do with spending your eddies and interraction with the city is absoulutely NOT ok.

You could cut half of the gigs and add sitting and eating at a food stall with animations and it would feel more alive and better to be honest.

The number of hookers in the game isn't a good measure of... anything except the number of hookers in the game. There might just as well be zero.

You may be looking for a different product...

They clearly advertised this game as mature with full nudity and numerous options for romance and adult interactions, they also spoke highly about the customization option and so on a so forth the game is fun not so much groundbreaking but fun, however they did not deliver on those few promises and its a disappointment. 8 years..... 8 freaking years, im loving the game but its such a disappointment considering the time it took and how much isnt here that should have been. Please CDPR dont just fix the bugs and leave it, dont give in to censorship, dont cater to feminism or vice versa, give us the mature experience we were promised. Im willing to believe stuff was cut for time, just make sure it gets in here at some point.

I think it wasn't 8 actual years. They only went into the actual development phase (past pre-development) when Blood and Wine was released. Which was 2016. But even then, 4 freaking years of development, at least 3 years of pre-development. This game should have been more cooked on so many levels.

Yeah, I'm also a little disappointed they did not do more with them. There are clear hooks in there where a BD sequence would go, but they look to have been cut for some reason.

In one side quest you hunt down the BD of a serial-killer, but instead of "watching" it to gather clues to the killer's identity/location, you just send it off to a fixer who then does the detective work off-screen.
So, actually if you're talking about the mission I think you are (trying for no spoilers here) There's a terminal that's kinda close to you as you start walking toward jig-jig street. If you jack in and click "login" on the page (I believe you need 7 or 8 technical ability to do it), then you'll get the location of a black-market BD distributor. (he'll be really close by, under a bridge) Talk to him, buy the BD for 1k creds, then your quest will be updated to take the BD to Judy who will then go through the whole editing thing with you.

EDIT: Actually, I think that's part of the main quest. Didn't notice you said "side quest" lol.

Oh....

This thread is quite an eye-opener and disappointing to read. I thought surely it unlocks at some point.

I mean braindance as entertainment is mentioned everywhere in the game and you see people constantly using it... and we honestly can't even experience it? (Obviously not talking about the storyline-specific crimescene investigation type of stuffs)...

Sure, those who say we can look at other products for that kind of stuff aren't wrong, but... we can look for minigames, romances, shooting, racing - everything in other places. I figured I can immerse myself into this world and actually experience what it is like in Night City. In the future. All sorts of bells and whistles.. yes, that'd include virtual sexy time and a whole lot more. Like, there's pachinko's and arcade cabinets and clubs everywhere but they're all static and something we can't take part in. I mean sure you can just stand at a club but nothing really happens there.

As it is, the world advertises it's many futuristic entertainments everywhere, but you can't really take part and as such, it's starting to feel like a "set", not a real world.

Funny how one big argument against people who look for an action game has been "This isn't GTA", but if you think about it, it's much easier to roleplay and immerse yourself in the world of GTA when not on a mission, than in Night City.

Sure, I really dig the mission and story side of Cyberpunk 2077 but when not on a mission and running from one point to another with a purpose, it falls flat. In GTA if there's a store, you can go in, talk to the clerk, buy something. If there's an arcade game cabinet, you can play it. If there's a stripclub, you can go in and buy a dance, if a golf or a tennis court, go play.

That is the sort of thing that I imagined I can do in the most anticipated roleplaying game of the decade. Infact, before release I specifically imagined I'd want to really simmer in the immersion and just take in the atmosphere and tour the new world I've popped into this time.. to just walk around, see what kind of stuff I can get up to in that futuristic city.

I also started as a Nomad as I imagined how cool it will be to drive towards the city and see it open up.
(But when it comes to that, we just get a montage)

So.. yeah, I guess the delays and their release date pressure got so heavy on them, I guess there's been plenty of compromises in everything that isn't plot and story related...

But surely if this game will have a standalone CyberPunk Online type of deal too, they will expand upon the actual "life in Night City" part, right?

I sure hope so. Heh, even in Witcher I lost count how often I just got lost in playing Gwent again to take a break from the bigger things in the game while still being immersed in that world. Activities big and small that compliment the world building of roleplaying games certainly add up to make a difference in my opinion as well.

Honestly a multiplayer game is the last thing I want from CDPR. Their strength is character based stories and believable worlds. They need to add life to the city so that it's not just an elaborate stage. I'm banking on DLCs and expansions to do just that.

Yeah they should focus on the mp after that. Because in all honesty, if they cant make the singlrplayer game interactive enough I can't imagine the multiplayer faring that well. Interactivity is a big thing, looking at games like GTAV or RDR2 Online

I got to use the bd wreath on a side mission..i wont spoil it..but its not an exciting mission..but i got to put the wreath on

The BD's you can buy are catagorized in your inventory as bonus material as well, maybe this was just something that was cut, would've been interesting in the world but I don't think it's a big problem not having full on porn in the game, could see that being a problem with ratings and stuff

Game feels really unfinished in many places. Scope of the game simply overwhelemed them....
I'm willing to give them time as long as they get the game where it was intended. Then if they make good I'm willing to put more cash down for additional content that provides more.

Either they cut them because they were behind schedule or they didn't want to turn the game into a porno. Regardless, all the non-mission critical features were totally gutted. It's a shame, but maybe we'll see all the advertised features added at some point.

They already missed the deadline by like a year, you have to understand that they were under extreme pressure from investors as well. That's the thing with big budget games, the people footing the bill dictate the rules.

So, only one female hooker. Sex scene with the main female romance for male V happens in the dark, so you can't really see anything. There is one female character that V basically has surprise sex with, but she's only kind of okay looking, and her top stays on during the scene! It's a one off. As of yet I have not scene a holographic dancer showing as much nudity as the holo when you talk to Evelyn. Dollhouses are a thing, but they apparently cannot be used. Braindances for recreational use are not a thing, even though you have a headset and can buy braindances. The hottest girl in the game is a freaking lesbian! Aside from the extremely limited options for lewdness, we have one uncensored ad for Milfguard, a few more suggestive ads throughout the city, and a store full of dildos, and that's it. Now I have not finished exploring the game world by far, but based on what I have been able to find online, options for adult fun are severely limited in a place that is obsessed with sex. At this point I really feel like CDPR is teasing the male audience intentionally by giving just enough to whet the appetite, and then saying "nope."

Kind of off topic, but the gigs and side jobs really feel a lot like your garden variety go here and pick this up/kill this person RPG quests. While it's true that maybe there's an element of fun to be had in mixing and matching the various ways that you can approach things (guns, hacking, etc), it still boils down to go here, do this thing, let me know when you're done, here's your money. I have seen some flashes of the quality writing and character development that CDPR is known for here and there, but I really feel like it is far less frequent than it was in Witcher 3. Lack of adult options for men, and seemingly less fun quests. The amount of women who worked on this game, as well as the fact that a number of employees were foreigners is starting to be more and more of a red flag to me. I can only hope that the main quest is satisfying and that as I play more I will find more quests with good writing and satisfying objectives.

Edit: I went and read the gig descriptions instead of just seeing that most said danger very high and moving on. Sounds like many have interesting descriptions. I hope the gigs as well are engaging.

The only thing I would disagree is that Judy is the hottest female, but that is a matter of taste :D, yes I'm not a lesbian, ~99.9% of gamers are not lesbian or gay in general, yet, ~50% of all romanceable partners sexual orientation are either gay or bi... Wokeness? of course...

Disagree, BD is reason # 2 I bought this game, and I'm probably not alone, where reason #1 was all the sex related content (probably not alone here either) and that was disappointing as well. I always fallback to the modding community (been a mod creator myself) but when it comes to RED games, our community can't do much...

Well it wouldn't be porn. I'm thinking more first person scenes like what we have with the joy toys, but more variety.

This game is not an RPG and it has nothing much to do in the city. 90% of what we were suppose to get was cut. They told us we get to use bd and call up joytoys and have them come to our apartment. Our apartment is useless..not weapons on the walls of our storage room..no outfits in our closet..we sleep on the bed beyond weird..they said we can interact with NPC's..nope..most say 1 word..other than the boring side missions..there is no side activities..we should be able to go to strip clubs and see naked dancers and give them money..we should be able to go to a casino and win/lose money..we should have races..maybe like deathrace (custom cars)..we should be able to find items to decorate your apartment with like the nude posters Jackie has in his garage..maybe add arm wrestling in bars..we need more animations when we eat and go to ripper docs and sex..we need lots more adult content and more joytoys in the red light district..give us our game you promised us..not this long wait for nothing special

What other features do you feel were removed besides braindance?

Activities and things to do.

They are already looking at AI and NPC behaviour which I hope is a lead in to getting all the activities they said were going to be in the game to make night city feel alive added back into the game.

Because at the moment, you can literally only do five things:

1) Go shopping for weapons (which is bad because there arent really that many weapons).
2) Go shopping for clothes (which is also bad because again there arent really that many choices)
3) Play whack-a-mole with 'reported crimes' which tend to be the same 4-5 things repeated instead of each being unique.
4) Do side missions (gigs)
5) Do the main missions.

Thats it. There is literally nothing else to do.

They also need to completely add in extensive customisation for vehicles and V's apartment. Also, barbers alongside a massively expanded customisation pool for character looks is needed, as is better customisation in the Ripperdocs with regards to cybernetics and the visual looks of our cybernetics.
