Will Sony's Censorship Policies Affect CP2077?

I read this article and I'm worried this will change CP2077 as a whole or the Playstation version

It probably does not make a major difference, at worst a few cutscenes may need to be censored (which already happened in The Witcher 3).

if sony want to pander to a small minority then just give them there censored version and XBOX Have the normal non censored version.

i want the non censored xbox version, censoring a game may be a deal breaker to A LOT of people.

No I don't think the version that comes to PS4 will be censored. From what I've read this censorship is only for heavily pornographic games which release mostly in Japan. Let's be real, Cyberpunk 2077 will not be pornographic in nature. All information we got surrounding cyberpunk's "Maturity" is about full frontal nudity, which isn't pornographic. I doubt we'll see any vaginal penetration, or even an erect penis. Because that would constitute an AO rating. AO ratings kill game sales. CDPR will not make an AO game. Hell, no AAA or AA company ever has.

There are plenty of people with a PS4 who will choose to play the game on their console. In fact, there are more PS4 users than Xbox users today, so I think a lot of people are gonna play Cyberpunk on Sony devices.

I've been preaching "Come on guys, we all know it's not gonna be AO rating" for more than a year. Also, fyi, CP2077 Discord owner said back in July "I only don't think it will be ESRB: AO" when there was a discussion on ratings. I mean, an AO rating basically kills a console release anyways ... so considering it's been announced for XBox One and PS4, it's basically confirmation that it wont cross that line. I would expect it to be a lot like TW3.

I figured I wouldn't notice any difference in the graphics, so I assumed it wouldn't matter which I ended up buying on. I remember time when people said Maturity will kill game sales. I honestly think Western Industry is too lame, players like to boast how great they are at ESport, raiding, how much kill streaks they can get but show them tits can they are quiet like small puppy. I actually believe GTA5' strippers had massive influence on its success, there must have been going crazy viral marketting, especially among young people, due to strippers which helped it sell so much, or can you guys think anything else why it sold so much? Because I cant, its quite simple open world game after all.

Btw, do your search on Porn Industry and you will see how big it is. Here for you to get started "Porn is a global, estimated $97 billion industry, with about $12 billion of that coming from the U.S." So you wanna mess with 96 dollar billion industry? Lots of gamers are into Porn and thats a fact, but problem is all game industry main players doesnt want to accept it, if a game is 100 hour long, there could be easily 2-4 sex scenes for example, average 2 hour movie has one or somekind of titty fest at least.

There likely will be sex scenes, but I strongly doubt there will be anything over the top. I mean, TW3 GotY edition had 8 romance "scenes" plus however many evenings one wanted to spend in Crippled Kate's, the Pasiflora, or the place in Beauclaire that I can't remember the name of. Sex scenes do not have to show everything to serve the story well ... in fact I would argue that frequently explicitly pornographic scenes detract from a story in most things I've ever seen. I'm very confident based on some statements in dev interviews that there will be more than 2-4 sex scenes. I'm also very confident they won't be showing everything and getting an AO rating. TW3 was very "mature" as far as romances go. I expect something similar in CP2077, just in the dark futuristic setting.

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by "titty fest," but the vast majority of big commercial releases do not have nudity. That's not to say I'm against nudity in CP2077 ... by all means if it serves the story go for it (plus it's kinda already obviously there in the demo), but your statement is objectively inaccurate, assuming you mean nudity. If so, the "average" 2 hour movie does not have "some kind of titty fest" in it.

2. CP 2077 will not be Adults Only. Nope nope nope. I mean, a Red could confirm this, ( and may have already) but we really shouldn't need them to. CDPR wants many many people to enjoy their work, as most creators do. AO would not do them any favours.

Well, Im not gonna argue more, but I say game industry doesn't come even close to Western Standards when it come down to Porn, Tits, Sex, Nudity, Sexism etc, GTA5 was a proof of that, imho. Btw, we have tons and tons of violence, isn't that AO rating stuff.
