Boss battles!

hello,

i would like to ask if thtere would be a lot of boss battles in the witcher 3 unlike witcher2, as a giy who loves good combat , this seems really important to me

boss battles with monsters in a darksouls 1 like fashion would be really great! if it is gonna be like skyrim then bah..

thanks!

Found this little video here that may answer your question:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_v8u4iQAOSQ

Summary of the video: He states it's been confirmed that there will not be traditional boss fights how we know them from TW2 or many other RPG's. Instead it seems that the monsters of the world are diversified and tiered (ex: Wolf, Royal Wolf etc). He speculates that every creature will have this hierarchy of design.

Also what is hard and isn't hard will be very subjective due to the fact that the combat is heavily based around analyzing enemy behavior and countering it.

Maybe you'll be better at dodging than me, and that will make packs of ghouls a cakewalk to you where they might be a deathtrap to me.

There will be a few big monsters in there for sure, and from what we've been told they have have different types of attacks and stuff so I guess that counts as a boss battle. I expect there will be real boss battles, like a scripted fight against one of the antagonists. I'd be very surprised if we didn't fight the king of the wild Hunt and his lieutenants. And don't worry I'm sure they'll will be closer to dark souls than Skyrim. That much is obvious already.

if there is an end to monster killing contracts/side quests, there is obviously an end to Geralt's orens, and and he can't buy anything nor pay for services or whatever,

Out posts and camps

Do you guys think there will be NPC camos and outposts like skyrim. Things like little camps of bandits or maybe even military camps or outposts.

Definitely yes!

If you take a look at the world map and the newest gameplay videos you will see a LOT of villages and camps all around, which you can visit and meet people etc. Some of them i noticed have notice boards that give missions as well. You won't be disappointed :)

Well IMO it is one of the big challenges to create a lively open world... I am looking foward to exploring the wilderness and places far off the main road as well but I hope it will not become boring and repetitive to clear out bandit camps, outpost etc... I always have to think of Far Cry 3, where you could literally "clear" the map and than just fast travel, quick save, rebuy ammo etc (which is good on a big map) but I did not like that because those places did not hold anything interesting, except message boards with stupid optional quests...this could really make the game tiresome after a while and worries me a little bit...

what i didnt like about FC3 was that after you clear the outposts the game world remains... empty. devoid of fun.
in FC4 this was significantly improved with varied random events still happening around you and with the ability to replay outposts you like. UBI learned a whole lot from FC3.

i just hope there wont be too many permanent clearing of areas in TW3. i heard somewhere that if you clear an area from one creature type than perhaps a different entity might settle in, or something dynamic like that.

i just... just... just hope that the world will never become lifeless or challengeless to explore.

Looking at the new screenshots where the White Orchard Griffin is referred to as a "Royal Griffin", this seems possible. The game has Royal Griffins and Royal Wyverns, both are major monster fights. "Royal" could be the W3 equivalent to Elite or Champion level monsters you see in other games.
