Will the MODKit eventually become an "editor" like REDKit?

I heard a rumour from a guy that knows a guy (tldr: might not be reliable) that redkit is in no state to be released this year, and that it's planned for Q1 2016. Either way, we'll get it when we get it (if at all).

that would make a lot of sense. i still think we're gonna get the REDkit 2 at some point. i mean, they been teasing it for so long, and @Benzenzimmern himself shared many details with us concerning it. and the statment Mr. Momot made is still somewhat vague, so there's still hope ^^

I just hope CDPR doesn't play us like a damn fiddle.

I went back on past statements by CDPR I found this. Its an IGN interview with Marcin Iwinski back during January 2014.

It's a single-player experience all the way, but we are looking to release the REDkit sometime after the game launches for the modding community. This way, people can create their own adventures, and this will inevitably add a lot of fun and replayability to the game.

Iwinski even says that they thought even about licensing out the engine, kind of like Unreal Engine 4 and Unity.

I even remember one of the dev's in on Triss threads just after the release that they couldn't wait to see fans make more romance quests with Triss or Yennefer.

I just want to know why they changed their minds, that's all.

Question is: Will the modding scene stay interested in the game until CDPR manages to make the engine mod-able in any practical capacity... with Fallout 4 on the horizon and Skyrim modding still going strong, Q1 2016 could be too late.

Don't take what they said back then seriously because after early/mid 2014 everything changed for them. I think they had to set new priorities across the board, and the RED kit wasn't among them. .
