Let's not forget that PS4 and XB1 are architecturally similar to PC, so I really don't think a big chance of a shoddy port is there.HomemComH said:I'm expecting a shoddy port because that's what we always get when a formerly pc-only dev starts doing multiplatform development.
CDPR, please prove me wrong.
X360 was already extremely well done, so I don't have any doubts.HomemComH said:I'm expecting a shoddy port because that's what we always get when a formerly pc-only dev starts doing multiplatform development.

I hope that Linux users will get native ports, but until it will become a standard, I would never suggest anyone Linux as good platform for gaming.Sure thing, it took them some time to iron things out. That's expected - things get fixed and get better. Wine really improved hugely since its early days. Don't forget it's not a proper gaming platform, it's a translation layer to run Windows programs on Linux. So sometimes things work out of the box, sometimes not until some bugs are fixed or features added. Native gaming is what's supposed to be a proper experience. (Even though CDPR themselves used Wine to release Witcher 1 for Mac OSX). So don't be surprised that Linux users will continue bugging CDPR to release native builds in the future.
You misunderstood me, usually when PC-centric devs become multiplatform devs PC gamers get screwed.Aver said:X360 was already extremely well done, so I don't have any doubts.
That's the irony, Linux is not a good option TO PLAY GAMES right now because it doesn't have many, but it does have some very cool ones.Aver said:I hope that Linux users will get native ports, but until it will become a standard, I would never suggest anyone Linux as good platform for gaming.
The money got back to me rather quickly with steam and gog sales.Aver said:But I bet that you paid a little bit more than 500$ for it./>/>![]()
Oops. Sorry.dragonbird said:Let's not turn this into Yet Another Linux Discussion please, the topic was PC/PS4
Not kinda. PC gamers were screwed. Especially since the game was marketed as a "true PC exclusive" in every way. It was false advertising. That's why my trust & respect towards CDPR has decreased since and I will not be preordering TW3 before they can prove that they are actually developing a proper PC version.HomemComH said:Hell, we were kinda screwed with Witcher 2 because the PC version has that horrible list inventory, radial menus and was clearly made with the use of a gamepad in mind.
I said kinda because I ended up enjoying TW2 anyway, but I agree.eskiMoe said:Not kinda. PC gamers were screwed. Especially since the game was marketed as a "true PC exclusive" in every way. Did you really just called witcher3 pc port? That hurts man, that really hurts.slimgrin said:I want the PC port to be the delux version where the devs put extra effort into the areas PC can shine.
I'm sorry for just jumping in like this. I can't answer your questions and what WILL be, and I am not the guy you ask for tech support and donät know much about consoles. I do know that I have heard somewhere that consoles nowadays are "PC's with a console shell". If this is true the question is moot, we're all playing PC.awsomeman500 said:since PS4 can "code to the metal", focus on single spec, and better optimization make it superior to even the high end pc versions
does the pc (talking high end) version have extra graphics features then the ps4 will have
can't the ps4 ubersampling to
Same here. It's a fantastic game despite the "consolization".HomemComH said:I said kinda because I ended up enjoying TW2 anyway, but I agree.
Port?slimgrin said:I want the PC port to be the delux version where the devs put extra effort into the areas PC can shine.
Consoles users can resell their used games or buy used copies. I'm mostly PC user, but for me consoles are way cheaper platforms than PC.Sirnaq said:The money got back to me rather quickly with steam and gog sales.![]()
Platforms? maybeAver said:Consoles users can resell their used games or buy used copies. I'm mostly PC user, but for me consoles are way cheaper platforms than PC.
Gaming itself cost the same. PC has Steam sales and consoles let you buy/sell used games.Sirnaq said:Platforms? maybe
gaming itself? not really
How many games from your library have you sold? How many multiplayer games are you playing? How many games with high replay value? Reselling games works only for 5 hours movie like trash titles, games with actual value are expensive. Also that's shoddy logic right there, i can also buy pc, play a little and then sell it, and then say "hey pc gaming is cheap!" As a matter of fact used pc parts are quite cheap.Aver said:Gaming itself cost the same. PC has Steam sales and consoles let you buy/sell used games.
