Someone in some thread suggested that for example rockerboy wouldn't need to be an artist but that he could be cult leader for example. So that would be kind of cool I think.

I don't believe that organizations that have survived thousands of years will suddenly crumble in the next century.

True, but that doesn't mean they can't decline severely (and many already are).
Conversely I'd expect an upswing in the amount of cults as the traditional religions decline. A significant fraction of the people departing whatever belief system they were raised into will seek out a replacement.

Sure, but will they? And most importantly which ones?

Whichever one(s) the GM decides they will.

Tho often when folks abandon one belief system for another it tends to be one who's core beliefs are pretty much the opposite of the one they left.

Im thinking:

CyMancy: A recent cult developed as a collective ideal. Only classified as a cult by the authorities, in reality it is more akin to a collective. ( like the anonymous collective of today) Based around the ideology of taking current Cyber tech and using it to recreate the magic found in archaic fantasy games. Young teens mostly, they modify implants to throw small fireballs, and arc electricity, saw one kid in a park using an over charged chem-battery in his arm to shock his friends while shouting "Lightning bolt" repeatedly . Some even go so far as to go to body shops and mutilate their bodies, everything from pointy ears to green skin and mangled faces. The children are harmless, mostly play in the park and maybe sometimes set a tree on fire. It is the Adults that take it too far. The adults practice proper sword fighting and hold duels. Sometimes using more intense form of the children's "magic" or using actual sword and shields.

Thanks, I think I got a new faction for my games.

You are -welcome-

Be sure to give us credit. Because we have insecurities. Especially Dragon.

I am totally secure. My claws are firmly hooked into something right now and there is absolutely NO possibility of me falling off.

And yes, I could see that working as a form of magic in PnP, or as a mod, or even in a "real" Cyberpunk world, but it's not a direction I would want the game to take. Neat idea though.

Actually I've done it.
One of my friends is a Cthulhu fanatic. Trouble was it's actually hard for an Old One to deal with cyberwear, smartguns, and AP ammo.

I have trouble believing a great old one was actually defeated by anything.

You may note I said "deal with" ... that doesn't imply "defeat" :)

Usualy, the only "Occult / Supernatural" thing in cyberpunk are the dead one living in the interface (like Dixie Flat line in Neuromancer, Alt in Cyberpunk 2020, or Reno in Hardwired), I'm not for or against, but some nods to this in the game could be fun.

Thought, in the pnp, occult stuff are cool, once i had a game where my players were working for a paranormal website and had to do investigations for it, dealing with vampires, zombies, chupacabra, etc... the cryptozoology kind of stuff, they even captured the Mokele Mbembe, and sold if to Night City's zoo.
But i'd hardly see it in the game, except for a mod or something lol

As a mod it could be amusing, but I agree it shouldn't be part of the basic game.
Of course not to say we shouldn't see a "New Age" occult shop and maybe run into a Satanic cult tucked away in some obscure corner of Night City. These things exist now and I can't think of a single reason they'd not be present in 2077 ... heck in 5077.

I would enjoy it as a kind of easter egg.

or as a vague "what if this was...?" without a clear answer

But not as the focus no.

I hope not. In my opinion, cyberpunk is about technology and modern society, not about magic and occult.

However, if you like supernatural elements, there is one game which might interest you. It's called The Witcher 3 :)

Depend on what kind of "occult" side you look at.
Sure, if you talk about witches, demons, ghosts, etc... They have nothing to do with Cyberpunk, or even our modern way of life, occult and overall urban legends evolve with time, just as now you have theory about new world order, reptilians, UFO, etc...
Just read the end of Neuromancer even the whole Sprawl Trilogy, (no spoiler lol), or the "optimum character" in "Islands in the net" by Bruce Sterling, where in the story, it's become popular to dream about his "optimal character", the person you dream to be, and it's explained that in a time where there is nothing unknown left to "believe", some people are ready to believe in a lot of unbelievable things, just add some technology and holograms and you can make any sheep believing almost whatever you want.
In Cyberpunk 2020, Alt (the Johnny Silverhand's girlfriend) has her "soul" (if we can call it that way) uploaded on the cyberspace (at the end of the 2nd Firestorm if i'm not wrong), maybe she'll keep on haunting the cyberspace in 77', like "get me out of here", that would probably freak some people out, making crazy theories out of it :
"Hey guys! a 60yo old ghost talked me through the net! the dead one can talk with you on the net, maybe all my cyberspace's friends are dead one"

Not saying they would have to put it in the game, but some things like this in the background (mostly if the game is really huge) would add some deph to the game, like "ok we are in the future, there is technology everywhere, but sometimes some crazy shits happens and you don't know where it come from".

Like cryptozoology too, it's one thing to believe in the bigfoot, but it's another when you live in a world where nature is overpolluted in some place (and even some radioactive places if i'm correct) so then you could meet mutants creatures (not a lot, but some) that people would think is "supernatural creature" when it's just a mutant lizard, mostly if they're uneducated and ready to believe anything.

This kind of take on the occult side can be interesting, but still it would just need to be an easter egg, or a funny quest in the wasteland, but nothing more.
