So invent something that has no practical reason to exist just so the game feels futuristic?It would feel like me communicating through a land line. Dated. Seriously dated. This is supposed to be a projection of our tech level in the future. It would really break immersion if we have smart phones. Especially since most open world games already use the smart phone as a mechanic.
That could work.I was definitely thinking "watch" like Slim, though some badass shades might be a bit more practical since they'd already be near your ear. As for the mic, something omnidirectional that recognizes the human voice and phase-inverts ambient noise so as to cancel it out seems suitably futuristic.
Glasses would also give you the option to incorporate "Times Square" easily. And if not fully 3D at lest the current move/video game version of it into images you'd view.
And it's real pleasure to meet someone else here that understands the capabilities and LIMITS of technology and ergonomics!
