Why does switching to LTSC put it in S mode? Now I can't install anything that doesn't come from the store, even the store itself cuz LTSC doesn't COME WITH THE STORE!
It also didn't let me keep any of my apps or settings because it said I was trying to install a version different than the one I was using.
maybe you should wait for the patch, otherwise you bought the game in the store, and you still need to "dance with a tambourine" to play ...проще уже на торрент пойти не тратя кровные
I had an activated LTSB, ran the update from the iso, wasn't allowed to keep any of my apps or settings other than personal files, tried the update anyway, and got stuck in LTSC S mode. Which is basically a dead end. Now I'm back on my LTSB
I have installed LTSC 1809 and still receiving a crash after doing all the updates through Windows and on the latest driver as well. This is the following error I receive when going into the error documentation after receiving the "flatlined" error:
Failed to load in-game config file from 'E:gamepcgog\Cyberpunk 2077\r6\config\settings\options.json'
Does anyone else receive this same message or have an idea what can be done from here?
Software issue more likely. delete all drivers and do fresh installation,
check drivers and update Visual C++. Turn off all non important apps, disable overlay's, check integrity of game files
if you want easy check what is it: software or hardware issue, just take any clean "spare" hdd/ssd, disconnect yours and try install everything on the new drive.

may be you have to update yours LTSB to the latest version fist thru windows update before you do UPGRADE
if you have non official windows image installed... sorry maybe nothing you can do... take second ssd/hdd and install everything on it.

I'm 100% positive it will not be fixed with patches. It's windows core issue.
Not too much people have old windows versions, and cd project also have to fix tons of other bugs and problems for everyone. plus optimization etc
don't even wait for it.
Updated to Windows 10 Pro 20H2. Im still crashing at loading screen after creating character.
The error is same.
But this is a progress. Before i cant even launch that peace of awesome game.
The problem with LTSB is related mainly to Directx 12. System show that i have directx12 installed, but games always starts with directx11. I think there will be no fix for it... (but i'm not sure )
Yes I assume it needs something from Direct3D feature level 12_2. You can see your feature level by running dxdiag.exe. It's on the right side of the Display tab. If it starts with 12_1 you're probably screwed. Disregard.
I have 12_0 and AMD driver from december 2019 and it works fine on the latest 10 Pro. On LTSB 2016 1607 it's not working with any drivers / redists. So as mentioned before it's seems some core functions. Maybe WDDM version idk. But some sort of DX12 is a problem yes. It's sad.

Hm. Maybe the feature level is the one your graphic card supports. You probably still have Dx12 Ultimate installed even tho the card and driver can't make use of the 12_1 and 12_2 features. Is there a way to find out? Mine says DirectX Version: DirectX 12 on the first page. Does it say 12.2 for you or anything? I have WDDM 2.1.

I don't think my GPU is able to use Ultimate. RX 580 with driver 19.10.1 WHQL. CP2077 works. Here's some dxdiag info on Windows 10 Pro 20H2 19042.685:

Looks like CDPR is finally acknowledging the 1607 issue:
5. If your Windows 10 version is below 1909, please update it to the most recent one. You can check the version of your OS pressing Win+R and opening "winver".

Sad to say, I have the same problem:
gpuapidx12error.cpp(40)
Rtx 3070 /w 6600k @4.4ghz/3.5ghz...
I tied all the tips with three different Windows builds:
1. Windows 10 Education 1909
2. Windows 10 Education 20H2
3. Windows 10 Pro 20H2
Reading about people moving to W10 Pro solving the issue, I rushed out to buy an m2 NVMe, put w10 pro on it, reinstalled cyberpunk, Latest nvidia driver (460.79), all visual studio distributables, checked for the latest updates, started the game as admin. Gave cog launcher admin rights. Disabled screen optimizations of both .exe's also.
Tried putting everything on Ultra low and RT disabled. Couldn't even stay in the bar as street kid. After 1 crash, the following crashes happen very fast also. Have to delete the localappdata% folder. Then I can play 1-2 min's before crash. Tried underclocking GPU also with no luck.
Friend of mine has same i5 6600k @stock, 3070 FE (I have Vision OC which is factory OC'd). Pretty much the same setup. Also on windows 10 pro with auto updates enabled.
Another success here, I just downloaded the LTSC torrent from rutracker, ran it directly (just clicked the .exe and proceeded with the installation). Everything was done in 15-20 minutes and all my stuff is still here, so nothing was lost/formatted.
After that the game works perfectly, been playing for 6 or so hours without any crashes.
Reporting another success, it ran after installing LTSC. Its a shame users were forced to do this, but at least we worked out a solution. Thanks OP to bringing this up to the community, most of us would still be trying to troubleshoot this issue by incorrect means if it were not for them.

I ended up installing to another SSD drive and installed the updated Visual C++ that was shared in the 1st post of the thread after clearing out the other ones, reinstalled the game and it's working now. This was before the 1.0.4 update that went live today. Thank you.
I have Windows 10 Corporate LTSC 1809 and i have the same issue. Am i right that the only way to play without crashes is fully re-install my OC to the newest version?
