Winning Gwent Cards from Merchants

How do I know if I already won a card from a certain merchant?

:hmm:

Only thing I can think of is if you beat them again and they give you crafting materials.

There's no clear way to know. Sometimes it will show the Gwent option in grey text which is what I use as an indicator, but yeah... no easy way to tell. This would be an improvement tbh. Would be nice to have a card counter to show how many cards you still have left to get.

You should have grayed dialog line if u already played with specified merchant. This dsn't mean that you won a game, but if u play until you win every time, that should give you info u need. It's working even after load / save.

Thanks for the tip. Never thought about it that way. Havn't acutally visited allot of merchants for cards so far. Gonna keep it in mind for the future. :)

Every time you talk to a new merchant, play gwent until you win.
That way, when you run into a merchant that has ANY grey text, you know you played them already.

And yes you will get crafting materials from a win where you already won a card.
Oddly, if you have won all the winnable random cards, and you play someone for the first time, you get nothing but the crowns you staked.
Obviously you don't get a card, but you wont get materials either.
This will tell you when you have collected all random cards.
If you play a dude and he gives you nothing, and you go talk to another brand new merchant and win nothing, you can be certain you have won all the cards you can from playing random people.

hmm... yeah... this can be improved.

I finished the game and still didn't collect them all, a few i missed (the tournament during quest @ ball), but i still miss randomly earned and i'm almoast sure i played everyone who had a play gwent entry in chat.

so, i must have missed a few merchants, which is pretty annoying.
would be great if they would actually make quest markers also for collect them all, as they do for other gwent quests.

use this 3rd party site to find the ones you missed but just a fyi there are cards with a certain one way pass you must do that unlocks for a short window in a certian place in the story.

Yeah its that fn cryptic

I must be nearing the amount needed for completion. Done all quests relating to gwent, been round all vendors twice and yet I still seem to be missing some random ones. Is it true a vendor eventually appears that will sell all the ones you're missing with the exception of some of the rarer ones (which I have anyway)?

i read about this app someone posted on ps3trophies.org on google play called gwentcheck its what im using. has pics, check lists, what they do and where to get them everything.

Edit: I just used it and i was missing 5 cards 4 which were all monster cards you have to buy from an inn that i missed then i got the trophy. it still says im missing a ballista card though, oh well. i thought for sure i missed that first card alot of people say they missed. was gonna start over, but thought id wait to see if they would patch it good thing i didnt.

I presume you mean you are writing them down, not inspecting a file somewhere?

That would suck doubly because it can happen that when you encounter that certain opportunity, you are in the middle of a quest that you need to finish and your Gwent deck might suck so much that there is no way you can win the match against that opponent.
