As it appears to be that work on Cyberpunk 2077 is not yet finished, and that CDPR (with the help of Virtuos's team) is listening to user feedback.

So I thought to list my top 5 things needed for the game to be even more awesome than it's now.

Making consumable items like Food and Drinks more accessible in UI, changing the bonuses

Food and Drinks are generally considered things that aren't really impactful in gameplay. They should operate more than a mere 10% stamina boost for 15 min duration or anything similar. They should allow things like boosting your attributes by 1-2 points, for example Strength, or Agility or Cool, depending on item used. Maybe some drugs would have positive and negative stat effects, like altering your mind by -2 intelligence, while giving +3 Cool. This could help to boost any given build slightly. I think bonuses could have shorter life like lets say 5 minutes, in order to clear any given gang location

I find it rather odd that in a game where drugs are marketed in every street corner, V is incentivized to never use them. Of course drug use would have negatives similar to Witcher's Toxicity, where taking too much would cause a drain on your life and perhaps prevent or slow down regeneration speed.

Separation between death and unconscious

1735981197873.png

I think there should be stronger incentives to differentiate between these 2 options, for example, unconscious enemies should be able to recover fully to the point their health was before being unconscious. Unconscious targets would need an extra work to become tied in order to prevent them from escaping once they become conscious. This would still mean they start to moan and make movement back and forward, causing them to become easier to detect. Once detected, the ally can help them to recover, uncuffing the person. If target was looted, and weapon was extracted, this causes another behavior where target is going to the nearest chest or weapon storage to pick up another weapon.

There would have to be some tweaks to existing quests where limited amount of death is required for higher rewards. Also weapon mod to make weapons non-lethal is a bit strange mechanic in my opinion and should be looked at.

Trauma Team response and Quests

Taking out randomly generated civilians with higher status (rare event) causes Trauma Team to descend, and releasing evacuation, picking up the civilian to the rescue plane and leaving. I would imagine the mechanics for descending and lifting the plane would be similar as the mechanic for MaxTac summon, so that wouldn't likely be the hardest part. Hardest part would obviously be related to picking the civilian, like there not being enough room for trauma member to get in front and behind fallen civilian to raise them into stretcher before carrying them off. Maybe there could be a small dragging animation where civilian is moved from difficult position, or this is just simply lifted in some kind of ragdoll animation style from the ground to the stretcher.

This would be quite complicated to do in some aspects, but I think the reward of doing so would add a great deal of livelihood to the game. Perhaps making some kind of trigger if Trauma Team is visible on screen, that they wouldn't trigger 2nd Trauma to emerge, and potentially a cooldown trigger for this happening.

Another thing that got me exited was the aspect of having Trauma Team missions where you enter into AV, and take a flight into an event where tragedy has occurred, with an active shooting event going on, or maybe the target is alive and fighting for his life in some corner. Maybe target could be already unrecoverable as his/her organs were being removed by the Scavs. Maybe in that event you could choose to kill or have mercy on the doctor that removing the organs of the diseased victim. This could add a lot of interesting moments.

Here's a video of Mod that some guy just made:

But unlike in video, I don't think V should be performing recovery on the bodies, instead he should be hired for the purposes of helping to secure the area.

Minor activities and NCPD Scanner Hustles rework

These should be emerging events, not something that just happens to be all around the map all the time.

They should get reworked to not clutter the map UI (on top of missions with too high difficulty being hidden), so that these tasks would only emerge in lets say every 1-3 hours. This would give more incentive to take a look of the given mission if it just happens as a rare event, rather than just existing with no time-frame. If you fail to participate and are in a distance where game deems you too far to witness what would be happening in the area, the event would clear out, until V actually helps to clear the mission. After that happens these areas would be filled with normal crowds, walking around, eating, meditating etc (which I believe is already happening somewhat)

Map UI to have option for satellite view

This should be relatively easy to do, as game already briefly during the early days, when entering into map showed a brief view of the overall map without the black+red theme we see normally. This is already done by mods and it's a shame it's not possible to see the city in it's glory like it is normally. Should be relatively small work needed and would add a lot to the beauty of the city.

Extra, the obvious candidate

3D person view
This is already done by mods, and aside V's own movement looking strange in 3rd person, there really isn't too much strangeness. Most of the actions are already animated for 3rd person view, like V lifting up garage door, or sitting down, or resting, so I doubt there's too many animations that would have to be completely done from scratch.

There's obviously some issues with spaces where there might not be enough room for camera to zoom out, so camera would have to have free movement out of the walls but also only display the visible area around V rather than for example the room above. This would add challenges which I have strong believe is currently being looked on carefully and might be the biggest obstacle overall.

It's far more complex that it seems. It requires to have double animations to make it "clean" in FPS and TPS.
And that's the reason we don't see V, even with path tracing reflections, because FPS animations looks bad in TPS.
it's a problem for shadows too, but it's less noticeable.
And TPS animations don't work for FPS.

Having specific animation for shadows and reflections isn't perfect either, since it might not match what the player would expect. (the shadow/reflection of arms + weapon would not match the position of what the player see).

For specific animation like lifting up garage door, etc... , they probably used 3rd person animations, and reworked them (adjust camera distance and FOV, adjust arms, etc...), but the main problem are the basic animations (running, and weapons animations).

I have been thinking of something similar that I would love to see:

Continuing Fixer Gigs.

After all gigs have been completed (don’t know the technical details, perhaps per fixer and perhaps overall) would it be possible to make randomly generated fixer gigs appear at those locations were the first ones were set. These locations have obviously already been generated in detail, so there would not need to be a lot of work done in that regard. These gigs would obviously not be as intricate or detailed as the original gigs, but there could be a variety of theft/rescue/sabotage/NCPD missions generated with the property restocked with NPCs, item pick ups, access points reset, etc.

Something similar to this already happens with the Clean Cut clinic for the Gig Hippocratic Oath and the NCPD Suspected Criminal Organization Activity “No License, No Problem” in Watson/Northside. Just expanding it in a system that allows V to have ongoing gigs if it is desired.
