It should have installed automatically in GoG unless you had "Install updates automatically" turned off for it. I'd recommend turning that off though and not installing this patch. It pretty much made the game unplayable for the vast majority of users.

Emphasis on vast majority. That doesn't mean literally everyone. The forums, the witcher subreddit, most places concerning the game have had an eruption of users complaining about the patch. Most people took a huge FPS hit. I don't even see how you'd gain FPS, actually. All they did was bump up the resolution on Ultra textures and add more sharpening and shit to foliage. Nothing that would reduce strain. It's in OP's best interest to wait, because if he updates and tries playing, he won't be able to use any saves if he tries to roll back.

I've actually had an overall FPS increase too. I think they also made some performance tweaks as well; not just textures

I'm terrible sorry for those who've had adverse affects with this patch. I hope CDPR can sort you guys out soon!

Like I said, if it wasn't installed automatically on GoG then right click (or click the drop down arrow, I can't remember which it is) the launch button, go to "backups and something else here" and it should have a list of all the patches, DLC, etc. that you can download. Download them and then go to C: > GoG Games > downloads and upates~! (I think, it's the folder above "The Witcher 3"), and then > witcher 3 > Find the application that installs the update. I think that's right, you should be able to find it anyway. I'm not at home so can't remember exactly.

How about the Retail, the retail is not on GOG unless you use the key they give you for GOG. i find this game lacking support for information. witcher 2 had more information.

I found the problem thanks for the reply...Will I be able to install updates and the free DLCs without using the GOG Galaxy game code?

We decided to offer software support, DLCs, and extra goodies only to gamers who confirm their purchase with the provided game code on GOG.com. This is the only way for us to differentiate between you, honest gamers who bought our game, and pirates who snatched it from the Internet " I Purchase the retail copy and notice there was a GOG code so...I had to use it to get the patches and DLC
