Witcher 2 EE combat difficulty?

So, when I was working up my review of the 360 enhanced edition it felt like combat was easier with the controller, resulting in less cases of me being killed by mobs of Nekkers, or dying while fighting soldiers in the prologue. In fact I got through all the major boss fights without dying once when playing on the same difficulty level as I did on the PC. Now, I can accept that after playing through on the PC it has seasoned me to know how to approach certain situations in the game, however I have this 'itch' in the back of my brain saying that it felt easier than on the PC.

How does everyone else feel about this? I may just be completely mad of course, but I just can't shake the feeling that difficulty was turned down slightly.

If it's easy for you on the 360 I'd shoot myself on PC! I've lost track of how many times I have died in track one. But I'm up to my 6th death at the tentacles of the Kayran in act 1

It's a reverse difficulty scale, which makes more sense realistically but is counterintuitive for games most of the time. Hopefully you have overcome. I died a lot in the beginning also.

PC was more difficult initially because I'm accustomed to consoles, but you might be right about the tweak. I'm on the fence. Going the other way with comparable. I'd like to add a sub-question. Was the tutorial the hardest thing for people like it was for me? That thing kicked my rear and made me cry. The actual game is kinder imo. This goes out especially to the PC overlords (as I didn't get a chance to play EE on there) :p

It took me a day to figure out how to do unto an Endrega Queen before she did me, and about the same for the Kayran. Of the two, the Kayran's the more challenging, because there's no way to get around the need for quick reactions.

I also got my arse kicked hard several times in the Prologue. It is really a sink-or-swim introduction to one-on-many combat. Especially in the original (1.0) version.

Dunno if I have enterile understand your point, gryphonosiris.
I find quite odd that the Devs have made a different difficulty level on PC and Xbox. I mean, the stats and maths and multipliers are the same (I think). I think that it might be all a matter of gampad vs K+M. That would definitely have sense and you could make a try, playing the game with a gamepad on PC and see what changes.

I agree that it would be odd for them to adjust the stats on the 360 version. Which makes me wonder if this is one of those rare occasions that gamepads work better than K+M.

I don't know. I've been a console player for my whole gaming career (20+ years) I have not hit a game with this level of difficulty on easy/casual ever! If this is easy I don't wanna experience a hard PC game!

I felt like I had an easier time on the xbox doing dark mode than I did doing normal on the pc right after for whatever reason. This was with the gamepad on he pc as well. I was able to just "faceroll" as it were on the xbox when fighting Letho and the Draug on dark mode. I had a hard time doing it when dark mode first came out on pc when I used a mouse and keyboard with it. Must be just a fluke on my part though, since it should be the same on both platforms. Maybe I was just on my A game when I did it on xbox, who knows?
