Witcher 2 EE Launcher Crash on Steam first launch

Luckily I'm not the only one with that problem. I wasn't about to uninstall and reinstall 20 GB worth of data. Thank God I stumbled upon this forum.

Hopefuly they come out with a solution for this...

I'm getting the same thing too.
Literally just made an account here after I saw alot of people were having the same issue as I am. I apparently don't even have a "witcher2.exe" file when I try to Run it. =/
I only have the Launcher and that's doing feck all. I'm on the latest patch, running it as an Admin, repaired .NET 4 and no luck yet again. Restarted more than half a dozen times to ensure everything was running smoothly.

I installed the game through Steam on Monday, played it that evening and was about 6 hours in. Everything worked beautifully and I had no issues whatsoever.
And now, like everyone else, I can't even get to the main menu.

Your witcher2.exe should be in the bin folder.

Now I remember that whenever I started TW2 (when i've been able to run it) there's been another "patching process" beside that VC redist. Now that it's gone the launcher crashes. Though I don't quite remember what it was exactly.

Before CDProjekt RED fixing the problem, I'd want to say... FML.
Just uninstalled the game and started installing it again. Almost lost my 1month-of-life-worth saves.

Was playing this game fine last night. Turned on Steam today to continue playing. Game Launcher kept crashing. Makes no sense and I'm pretty upset. I've tried a bunch of different fixes too and nothing seems to work.

you aren't kidding I was just about ready to go through the process of uninstall/reinstall until I decided to check these forums so I saved myself alot of time

I have exact the same problem... I just bought it on Steam and now I can't play it and there's no information in the error message... Simply a "Stopped working" from Windows 7... I'm trying to slove the problem for hours and slowly but surely I regret that I bought the game...

I tried re-installing the game, I installed vc redist manually, tried it with and without launcher but the problem's still there and there is no response from the technical team :/

Well with this many people having this problem it seems that help's on the way.
There's no point in doing anything. I've basically did everything but reinstall the game and nothing's changed.

It's a great game man, don't regret it. I'm sure it'll be fixed soon...we won't have to wait long right?...right?

same problem here, everything works fine yesterday. Now nothing works, I register here just to post this message. I brought the game because I really liked the story and knows the team behind the game worked really hard on this product. Please fix the issue, I will come back tomorrow for a solution.

I downloaded the game today. It crashed on the launcher (around 7pm EUR time). I googled it and taught it was a problem with my .NET4. Reinstalled, rebooted and updated NET4 a couple of times but didn't work. Now I deleted TW2 and downloading it again, but since I've seen this topic, that probably isn't going to work. I'm glad im not the only one and its probably not a problem with my pc.

Ugh, I know how you feel.

The worst part about it is that I've finished all of my other games, and the Witcher 2 is just so epic that I really don't want to go back. But at least I have Boondocks.

They'll fix it. Keep your copy. You wont want to miss out on this epic game.
