Witcher 2 enhanced -Invalid or incomplete version - patches wont load

I purchased hard disk copy of Enhanced Edition and have experienced serious bugs and problems since the start.

Firstly on my first playthrough at level 24 in Vergen the game suddenly decided to stop allocating experience points so I reloaded the game hoping that patches would help.

Patches 1.35, 2.0 and 2.1 and the patcher all refused to load stating that I had "invalid or incomplete version of game".

I continued the second playthrough and on arriving in Flotsam immediately noticed that the mysterious merchant was not there.

I am not wasting time playing any further as I have no doubt there will be other problems further into the game so I am now playing version 2 instaed.

Very disappointing particularly as the helpline are not answering phone and my emails asking for help are being returned via Mailer Daemon. I have to conclude that the disk is corrupted.

If you still have your manual and CD-key, you can get a free backup-copy of TW2 on GoG.com here: http://www.gog.com/en/witcher2/backup/

So just download that and you should be good to go, if indeed the disk is corrupted.

Hi Niko - thanks for response - regretfully I have sent game back because my broadband speed is so slow I am told it will take approx. 2 days to download the game. I am now playing Witcher 2 version 2 and will wait to see if a patched version of enhanced version becomes available.
