"Witcher 2 launcher application has stopped working"

As I said, the launcher application isn't working properly or something. I uninstalled the game completely, then re-installed it via the discs, and after installation it immediately began to update, as it should. However the update failed because of a corrupted file (this is the third time it has happened, do you have any idea how long i've waited to get this stuff downloaded over my slow ass internet?) and now the game itself won't launch.

Favorite game ever, and it isn't working, and all the xbox kids are playing their awesome enhanced edition game and I can't! (cry cry whine pout!)

For real though, I want to get this nonsense fixed. I'm off to class but I hope the community can help me out later on.

Using Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (with a mac inspired theme, relax)

And what seems to be the problem that you can't start the game by running witcher2.exe ? Or configure the game by running Configurator.exe ?

He has the same problem as me, every other game you want to update you dont have to go in to any files and search for this and that, Not every PC gamer is computer savy. I've lost all my saved game for this game trying to update( I had no choice to update by the way )
Sorry I dont want to sound angry, but I'm running out of patience after trying 4 or 5 different ways to install this game.
Window 7, 64 bits direct X11, UAC disabled.
Please, someone or the creator of this update chime in and explain step by step how to successfully update.

Look at the attach thumbnail. I get the same window pop everytime a patch is trying to install. It even says that my copy is invalid, even though I paid $60.00 for it.

That doesn't work either, and yes the configurator works, but you can't start the game with that obviously. My point is that I literally just reinstalled the game from the discs I've got. You seem to be not helping whatsoever, so..... why take time to post then

somehow I missed the part where the patch did not finish, ok, re-run patch until in finishes correctly, your game is CORRUPTED at the moment, see my signature link pls

Anyways, if like me you've been trying to reinstall from disk, you could try to get a digital backup-copy with the EE already patched into it from:

Definitely a good and legit site and is CD Projekt Reds sister company . I got my backup copy from there with no issues at all .
