Witcher 2 Premium Edition closes after entering CD key

I bought the Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Premium Edition off of amazon a few days ago. Installation worked fine. Need help as I can't find any fixes. As the title states the game closes after I enter the CD key and hit enter. I read somewhere through my google searching that it is trying to pick up the servers but can't? I'm not sure if that is accurate though. Let me mention I also have no internet connection. Even so, the launcher should launch regardless. Am trying to find a fix as fast as possible. Thanks!

CDPR server that are checking cd-keys are probably down because the DRM was removed.
If you can't play the game without entering the cd-key, try to enter it here: https://www.gog.com/witcher/backup You should get there the enhanced edition of Witcher 2 with all patches.

So when I enter the CD key in on GOG it will automatically do what exactly? Because like I said, I basically have to do it from my brothers computer, then try and go home and see if it works. No internet connection where I am located.

If your key will be accepted, you'll get the latest version of the game without DRM protection which means you don't need to bother with cd-keys or registration of the game. You'll have to just download the game files/install it and play.

Yes, the files that you'll get are installation files. If you're not right now on your gaming computer, you can move them wherever you wish and at home just run setup.exe

Hmm I'll have to get a pretty big flash drive.. I only have a 128gig one.. Would any of you happen to know an estimate of the DL size of witcher 2?

It's about 15GB if I'm not counting some bonus staffs like artworks, soundtrack etc.

I'm going to need something bigger than a 128GB flash drive ha! What are other ways of doing it? Copying it on a cd, & would I need any software like a burner or something?

Flash drive is definitely the easiest way but if you can't find 15GB on it, DVD is also a possibility but you'll need at least 4 of them because standart DVD has capacity only 4,7GB. You can use some 3th party burner but windows have a basic burner too.
But remember: If you're going to burn it on DVD, once you're at your computer, don't forget to copy the data from the discs back to your HDD and into one folder, I don't think setup.exe will work otherwise.

I'll just have to order a big USB drive online from somewhere and do it that way. I hate to do it this way but if it's the only way I can play then I'll do it! Thankyou everyone for your help.

Not sure what you mean by that sentence, you want some recommendations on flash drives or something like that?

I have a 128GB flash drive, I don't think that will cover the 15.6GB's will it?

128GB is definitely bigger number than 15.6GB, if the flash drive is free you shouldn't have a problem. You probably missed the dot between '5' and '6'

Oh ok Well unfortunately it tells me my key is invalid. Idk what to do besides contact customer support

Contact GOG support with your key. They should be able to help you. You can also make a photo of your disk and attach it just in case, to save time.

I did contact them, but hhave yet to hear anything. Do they take there time with support tickets usually?

The only reason you NEED to register the copy you bought is if you need to download a later version, i.e. if the disks contain Version 1.0.

Have you tried just going ahead and running the game? Unless the disks are second-hand, I'd be very surprised if anyone is still selling the original Version of the game.

When I do try and run the game, it brings up my specs, and then asks me to activate the CD key. I then enter my CD key and press enter/ok, and it then does nothing.
