Witcher 2 Tutorial Golem Question

Hi. Could anyone give some recommendations on how to kill the golem in the tutorial? I know I should probably get on with the game but I have never been able to kill the thing and it irks me. Bombs seem to be useless against it and while the silver sword gives it only minimal damage, it almost one-shoots me. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried Axii? Or Yrden? Either should slow him down enough for you to get in hits or a destructive sign, like Aard or Igni. Then run or roll away. Come back and do it all again. Your Quen should be up with this guy, all if not most of the time.

There is a thread on this forum regarding Arena tactics. You might want to take a look at that.

Good luck.

Yrden and Aard both work well against golems.

For swordfighting, move in with a fast attack, then switch to hard once you've engaged. As soon as it changes stance (usually by crouching), it's your signal to roll out of the way. It's slow-moving, and your speed is your best defence. And keep Quen up if you're going for swordfighting.

Sorry for the double post. Can we delete it somehow like before or only mods are able to do it now?

There is a golem in the arena at the new tutorial of The Witcher 2 2.0 version.

Anyway thanks to the advice given and after watching a couple of youtube videos I finally did it. It was very difficult and a certain degree of luck was necessary, but mainly what I was doing wrong was that I would ran away from the golem more than I would attack it, whereas what I should have done was to attack it as much as possible (preferably from the back) when it kept a defensive stance and run only when its stance changed.

So thanks for the help and finally on to the game! (I think I'll try Hard difficulty.)

Hmm, I think I missed it. Probably you don't meet the golem unless you do something specific in the new tutorial.
