Witcher 2 X-box 360 Dark Edition Price in North America

In the conference, the US price is listed as $80 for the Dark Edition:

At the 10:47 mark. $79.99 for North America.

This is an awesome price, especially considering the 3D Wolf's Head relief on the box (I am really curious what that will look like).

However all of the US retailers I've seen selling it have it listed at $99.99 E.g:

Amazon:

GameStop:

I've already pre-ordered the Dark Editin, as I think its worth it at both prices. However I am sure some are on the fence because of the price difference between the Premium Editio. Can CD Projekt make any definitive statements about what the price of the Dark Edition will be in the US & Canada?

Anyone knows if there will be Dark Edition for PC??? Or just for Xbox360???

Thanks for all.
So far Dark Edition is meant for Xbox only. TW2 pc already had its own "special ed", the richest so called Collector's Ed.
There will be Tw2 Enhanced Edition for pc as well, available on the same date, downloadable for free from the main site (for legal owners of the original game)

$99.99 would seem a much more likely price. $79.99 seems a little...cheap. Even at a hundred the Dark Edition is still a full thirty dollars cheaper than the PC collectors ed.

I already pre-ordered at the $100 price point. Just wondering what happened between the conference and the beginning of pre-orders at Amazon and Gamestop that changed the price.

The shops set their own prices, happens here in Finland all the time. For example Diablo 3 CE can be found for 80 € as well as 100 €. That $79,99 could be the SRP (Suggested retail price) and from there the shops can then ask more if they so choose (i.e. if they are greedy).

I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Pre-ordered Mass Effect 3 here from Gamestop in Finland, who charged 100€ for it, but said the prize may vary during the upcoming months 'til it gets released. Last time I was there (which was a week ago) they said it was back to its original prize, 79.90€

I think GS and Amazon will also come down to the correct price prior to launch. I just feel bad for the people that would've gotten the Dark Edition for $80 rather than the Enhanced at $60, and had to pass on it when they saw the $100 price tag.

Also, yes, what CD Projekt says is MSRP and there is no obligation on the side of the retailer, a profit driven entity, to not charge more. However, I also don't remember any instances of this happening before at GameStop.

The game hasn't come out yet, so I assume people will be allowed to switch their pre-orders to the Dark Edition if the price gets changed :)

That is true, GS is very flexible in allowing you to move your deposit around, and even outright refunding it.

Yeah, I've canceled pre-orders in the past, and I pre-ordered Skyward Sword less than a week before it came out and I still got the collector's edition thingie with Zelda-themed remote :p It might be different for the TW2 Dark Edition though if it has a more limited supply (at least I would hope that Gamestop doesn't take more pre-orders than there are copies of the game to sell).

The PC Collector's Edition was available for about a month through GameStop.com after it came out, then it sold out. The only Collector's Edition that came to my GameStop was my pre-order, so I think its fair to say we won't see the Dark Edition lying around on store shelves either.

For the fun of it I check EB/gamestop up here for the TW2 CE and they don't have any in stock and look like there not ordering anymore.
Did find it on Amazon.ca and they where selling it for CDN$ 249.99.

For those that live up here in Canada you may want to know that EB/Gamestop just listed TW2 DE for 99.99

There is now a Dark Edition for the PC listed by GameStop in the US for $49.99 :

Is this what the Enhanced Edition for the PC will be called? I don't see any pre-order bonuses, or any details about what's included.

As far as I know Dark Edition is for Xbox only.

Enhanced Edition on PC is going to be called...Enhanced Edition! :)

EDIT: the site shows Dark Edition as PC...hmmm.
