And don't forget that if you dislike blundering about in the dark, or need to wait till others are awake, you can set up camp... so a "day" is only just over an hour to an hour and a half long - and you can nap/meditate/prepare during the afternoon prior to a nighttime monster hunt instead if that seems more appropriate.

I think I'll like questing during the night the most, actually. If there are hidden camps in the woods, I'll just follow the camp fires and silhouettes through the trees like a moth to a flame. It'll be especially helpful if I'm to remove the 'point of interest' markers off the world map.

I read through this whole topic and don't understand how you can say these graphics are amazing when you can't see them properly due to the terrible video quality
Because they still look amazing. Sure, the video quality isn't great, but it's good enough to tell a lot about the graphics. If we were watching a clip of the movie Avatar that had a lot of compression, for example, it would make the movie look worse but it's not like we couldn't easily tell that it has cutting edge CGI visuals.

It's the same thing here. The compression trends to destroy fine detail, which makes grass and foliage, in particular, look worse, but we can still tell much about the game's overall graphical makeup.

I just realized that the part from 11:34 where Geralt 'ninjas' his way to the archer reminds me of TW2's intro where Letho kinda does the same thing on the ship.

What i don't like is that he can't open chests or take the loot with his hands. Same as the old Witcher games. He's a witcher maybe he has some mental powers idk. PLEASE CD PRJEKTRED. MAKE GERALT TAKE LOOT WITH HIS HANDS. Anyways the game is amazing. Can't wait to play it :D. Eng sux, i know!

I just checked the gameplay, and one minute seems to equal 4 seconds, not 6.
So that makes a day 1 hour 36 minutes in real time. Still not bad I think.

Is that the same as the earlier games? 4 seconds per minute rings bells...

No idea to be honest.

1 and a half hour could be a little short for my liking, but it's still better than - for example - GTA's 48 - minute days.

I'm not so sure - the Tutorial/Prologue may have explained stuff like that.

Indeed, I instantly recognized that, just his normal voice. And to be perfectly honest, I'd like if he voiced Geralt like that all the time. I always feel like he's forcing the badass voice little too much. Nothing that would make me enjoy the game less, but still.

Another thing that seems to be mentioned often is the laid back conversation between Geralt and Vesemir after fighting the ghouls. You'd expect them to sound at least slightly exhausted and speak louder while riding their horses, but I guess you can't pay attention to literally every single detail when directing such a huge amount of text.

Please don't. Nobody needs to be slown down by animations that get repeated millions of times in one playthrough. It's a gimmick that gets old really fast. I hate it every time a game does that to me.

And BTW, the game is more or less gold, so nothing's changing anymore.

Why not? If it's a dream, it can explain anything. Even giant hens in a forest of mushrooms.

Agree, it would be a pain in the arse after a while. It is in Assassin's Creed games, and here looting will be even more frequent.

One could say the same goes for drinking and eating, but actually I'd prefer to have a short animation for both of them - like in TW1 - it would make harder to give yourself a boost to health regen in the middle of a fight.

I am in between the two options. Although it'd be nice if my character picked up the loot himself, i do also believe that in a game like this and in the long run, i would get tired of seeing the same thing over and over again. So i think it's fine as it is.

The TW1 mod to "pick up everything at once" was pretty popular.

Indeed. Thinking of all the variables that would be involved, and the amount of voice work required, is insane.

For example, if Geralt went off exploring straight after that fight and left Vesemir alone for a long while, then came back to finish the dialogue (I'm guessing there is that freedom here), sounding out of breath or on edge might not fit, and I'd see that as far more jarring than their nonchalant demeanour.

Yeah im with you, but I'd like to test an example where there is an animation, but you can interrupt it to loot instantly or quicker, like opening doors vs kicking them in RE4, which you do by pressing E/X one more time.

Or another one where you press the button to loot, and Geralt starts the animations (short one) but you can see the contents of the chest/enemy you are looting instantly when the animation starts, so while the animations happens you are thinking what you want from whats available and separating the items and so on, and when the animation is done the selected ones go to the inventory, or you could just cut the animation when you've made your mind earlier maybe.

bah, just details...
