Look, as a primarily narrative driven game, there are lots of different narratives. Narratives you might miss along the way, but you want to pick up without starting over again, some of them really great. Narratives you by passed becuase you are 70 hours in and want to find out what the eff happens in this story, but want to go back and pick up side quests later without some sacred savepoint before the point of no return. This is the nature of most open world games. Somethimg ends, something begins. They know this, we should too.

This is an extension of CDPR's patented Choice & Consequences[SUP]TM[/SUP] out from the digital gameworld and into your room. No goggles required, though maybe a change in perspective. You can keep all your saves and do-over every single decision you like if you want, nothing stopping you. Or you can go back and enjoy a completely new game with a fresh Geralt taking completely different decisions all the way. The thing to remember is this isn't a game where your choices won't make much difference other than some nebulous statistic or attitude change, the choices will significantly alter the gameplay, affording numerous playthroughs, just like TW2.

Anything else in the whole 8 minutes of footage worth discussing besides the one point that we will most probably never find out about, that is - what platform it was on?

Or people come to the forums, ask for new screens or footage every day just to speculate about which platform it was played on after they get what they want?

Ok:
Not content with quest markers for what should be search missions (remember that swamp mission with Johnny; they use the witcher senses to find him when his location is right there on the map), I also see "!" when hovering over the refugee; this is more "streamlined" than Skyrim and Skyrim was as superficial a game as you get. Please have a "disable hints" option.

Ok. Liking the music.... liking the menu....liking the animations... obese face? I'm a 400+ pound man. I have an obese face. You need your eyes checked...... some complaints still no weather or night despite Damien commenting on how drowners get stronger when they fight in the rain, but no visuals, so fair point.... console/PC PC/console blah blah blah....Did he really oil a silver sword? Oops, have to mention that to Damien...... Grass? Seriously? No mention of how great the villagers look (ok, one about Roach bumping into a woman which I also chuckled at), no comments on the royal wyvern, a few about the combat, but complaining about how the f.... flipping grass looks? That is your takeaway on this?
*sigh*

Oh, and more downgrade talk makes baby Jeebus cry and you look like a tool. Wait till the game is out then brag you were right (which you won't cuz you aren't) or start making excuses about why you were wrong (better get on that).

Ok, back to the show floor. TTYL.

Yeah, I feel you. Trailer is great, you guys want some deserved apriciation and 50% of comments are plainly stupid.
Anyways, gameplay video on The Witcher youtube channel is extremely well recieved, and I think that should tell you people actually love it despite being 'a bit too worried' [read - fu**ing obnoxious] about minor things.

oh yea i liked nearly everything about the video. The best part for me is the interaction of the wind with the leaves and the grass. Couldn't get over how soothing it looks. Mix that with the beautiful soundtrack and this would be a therapy session lol

I agree with some of your points, but why can't people criticize grass when it looks so terribly bad ? I guess people would appreciate another kind of gameplay, because we have already seen a lot of side quests. If you want to read a true hate just go to neogaf and you will be shocked how people react there. It wouldn't be so harmful if it were just hate, but it is constructive criticism.

You should show people what makes Witcher unique, not same looking type of gameplays with traditional mechanics.

You know it's kind of refreshing to finally see a dev 'stand up' to downgrade talk. Instead of just taking the FUD that's being spread and trying to contain it, and 'appease' to those people. Developers got every right to call out the people who yell downgrade and put them in their place, kudo's to you sir.
(and with devs I don't just mean CDPR but the entire gaming industry as a whole.)

Okay, just saw the new gameplay in HD, it's still awesome.
The only little things that bug me are the floating stones in the air next to the wine wagon off to Geralts left, and the grass going through the rock just outside the cave on Geralts right. Do devs see this off the mark stuff too? Or are they like.. oh fuck it or what man haha... can't they fix little shit like that please. I mean everthing else looks really nice and more real than ever before in the history of rpgs, and then I see a few floating stones in mid air that should be touching the ground wtf or some grass that goes through the stone by the cave. It stands out really bad, just saying ;)

I'm sorry but, is it not feedback that is the point of this thread. I mean of course, there is some superb ambiance lighting (better then what i've seen ENB wise) and the animations during conversation are filled with subtle expresivness for one minor side quest, but just saying "looks great" on the game's forum seems, frankly, like a waste of time. People will be more inclined to critique instead of praise. For the later, wait for user reviews.

It is PC version. If I compare it to PS4 version which I actualy played - today's wideo looks clearly better even when I watch uncompressed.

On PS4, grass and generaly foliage is worse. Also there are more pop-ins, everything is not as sharp as this, draw distance is smaller and environment is less detailed.

You don't understand, Lukas. To the people bothered with the visuals, your post isn't reassuring, it's alarming. It tells them that their (in my opinion totally delusional) expectations won't be met, because if this isn't some "sub-par console footage" (hopefully XBox 1, because that suggests the biggest potential for improvement), it means that TW3 is... I don't know. A "regular looking" game? Nothing special? Beats me, I'm struggling to make any sense of it.

Who is to say that the PS4 is now looking just as good as it did on PC back when you played it? At this point, they might look more equal. 3 extra months is a lot of work days inbetween, I bet it will look as good as it does now if not better com May19th on PS4/XB1 & PC. ;)

No, no - I was only trying to explain why I think that today's footage comes from PC, not from console. That's all

After 3 months the game will look even better. Don't you worry you will enjoy it as much as people on xbox or pc. It's content, story and gameplay that matters, not ultra graphics

Fair enough. I guess we'll have to see since cdpr isn't talking much about it. I thought tw2 was great because of the consequences, though many of the side quests weren't particulalry important to the main quest. It will be interesting how they manage leveling, which was brought up in q/a. In a game with 50 hours of side quests, how do you handle someone not wanting to do all that but just want to finish the game since there is no auto-leveling of enemies.

If it makes you feel better Chris. My brother and I both really liked the Royal Wyvern design, and he hasn't even played a Witcher game before. He said it looked like something out of Eastern European mythology rather than Western. So I think you guys nailed it.
