Nope, like I said. It runs beautifully. If you really think that, you have no idea what you're talking about.
It runs perfectly and that says a lot. This game was made for medium hardware.

at 10fps not run beautifully you need at least a GTX970 for run beautifully with full ultra settings

Call me crazy but I feel like the weather took a hit from 2013 build.

I mean, the snow for example, the particles differed in size, direction, speed, while still adhering to wind and the laws of physics. Now snow is just uniform white hexagons.

Basically same with rain. Although rain is a different issue, it is terribly lit

Not to mention the fact that for some godawful reason, they decided to make it so that when it snows, all the foliage turns white. Literally. I have used the debug console to switch between clear and snowy weather in Skellige, and the difference is completely ridiculous. In 2013 build, the snow was there but the green, crisp atmosphere still existed.

And rain has a similar effect. Whenever it rains, the game becomes unrealistically dark. Why is it that when it rains at 11AM, the sky becomes nearly pitch black? In some EXTREME cases this can occur naturally..but the vast majority of times it still looks like DAY TIME.

Some of these graphical/design choices..I just...

I'll stick to the vanilla settings for now as far as graphic enhancement is concerned...

And whats up with terrain quality? Is it turned off at the moment or there is no difference between low and ultra?

The current terrain quality settings are pretty much the same between low and ultra, it's supposed to apply geometric details in higher settings. So you might better off with low for now.

If you don't believe it, fine. Then let's stop this discussion.

DB: Yes, I think you need to. Because ad hominem attacks are really, really not OK under any circumstances, and that one was pretty bad.

I play the Witcher 3 on full Ultra on an ASUS ROG g750JS gaming laptop (GTX870m). Everything maxed out and it runs beautifully.
This game was made for medium hardware and not for graphical prowess that is something that becomes painfully clear.

its a kepler gpu mate , so i would expect similar performance to an ocd 860m (30fps at high)

Tell that to that other dude who doesn't believe me and says that it can only be 10 fps.

The only thing that I have not ON is hairworks, then I start to see a bit of framedrops (but not game breaking). The rest is on ultra.
It works like a charm. Seriously, what would I win from lying to strangers? It gives me nothing.
It's on full ultra and it plays great.
But it says a lot about the fact that the game could have been much greater on PC.

you're lying, it's impossible to run at 30fps with a 870m with all settings on ultra
and Yes, I am Italian and I understand more than you about pc
and certainly I'm more polite than you
End of discussion.

Cant we increase the LOD via user.settings or is there a hardcap?
I just wonder why CDPR hardcapped so many settings too, doesnt really makes sense to me.

In SOD trailer we can see amazing fur effect on bear which we can't see now. And in NVIDIA video when DEVs talked about fur I remember that one of the DEV said that every piece of fur is moving on bear and it is not that noticeable in final game. Like I said every time in January footage the hairwork of Geralt's hair was more beautiful and high res. And I think that NVIDIA effect video was captured before January footage. Because after January footage hairwork on Geralt's hair was downgraded. So it seems that they had to change the fur effect on bear too.

Hairworks was severely downgrade after patch 1.02 (practically all but the most essential movement was removed and also the essential one was cut down hard; probably also tessellation was reduced a lot). I don't blame CDPR here as that's the only thing they could do to have AMD GPUs and even Kepler ones to have reasonable performance impact while using the option. Here it is completely the fault of NVIDIA and their absurd boxed approach to the technology that completely stops every form of interaction between AMD and devs to improve performance via drivers when using that technology on their hardware. Even more neither NVIDIA itself seems capable on producing good performance on Kepler hardware while using gameworks (see Project Cars), willingly or unwillingly.

All in all this thing of Gameworks is a complete fail on part of NVIDIA and CDPR frankly can do nothing much more than simply scaling Hairworks down so that users with non Maxwell cards can actually enable it without halving their FPS.

Not after 1.02 patch. Even after January footage hairwork of Geralt's hair was downgraded. What is really really interesting to me. Reviewers said after January hands-on that, they got 60 fps on high setting. But there was one confusion, they said that the hairwork was disabled during January footage. But we can clearly see that in 15 min January footage Hairwork was enabled except last part where Geralt take a bath. Now we know that January footage was on GTX 980. And we know that game was 60 FPS with that amazing hairwork enabled. After that DEV said that they optimazed the game without any downgrade and now they got 60 FPS in ultra setting. But we now clearly see that 'at least I see' the hairwork effect was redused after January footage. So game is 60 FPS with ultra setting hairwork on because hairwork is not as good as January footage.

Yeah, those colors are definitely good Essenthy. Why do you always keep all for you? Damn.

That's not a preset nor the cutscene lightning so you are probably using some custom weather setting that only you have. Egoiiiist!
