i think this pretty much summerizes the whole downgrade contraversy. and what bothers me most is how they kept on denying it. did they only admit it only after release in order to secure the pre-orders and day one purchases, which were done probably based on the old footage shown.Obviously, this was set ablaze when a Neogaf member, whose credentials as an insider have been apparently verified by a board administrator, said that PR is creating “an overblown vision of a game that doesn’t exist”

The stuff we’re doing is going to look really amazing.”

CD Projekt:“No. That’s the answer. We are not downgrading it. We are optimizing the game but in a way that doesn’t affect the visuals. So there is a lot of work for us,
and this is also one of the reasons why we delayed the game.

Why didn't you say anything till now?
CD Projekt "Frankly speaking because we didn't see it as a problem," Iwinski admits "You can't hide what people can so easily compare and see "adds Badowski.
Anyone else remember the forum a few weeks before the 21st? Banhammer for even talking about it making the situation even worse. Not speaking about it is what the issue was in the first place, so why then do it after release is my question. Hint. It isnt acceptable to sell a game like this.
i feel you friend, i feel you -hugs-what make me even more sad is that they can make the game look better just by editing some files ( like we did but properly in a none hacky/destructive way )
unless am missing something what kind of resources does that take ? they have 0 valable reasons for not doing it, they didnt explain anything about it, everything is in there sitting and working, but we're obligated to play with locked console level settings while the game engine can clearly go way further
in that case why should i care to make it look better ? am i paid by CDPR ? did they even care to responds to us who spent hours tweaking this mess to make it look a little bit better for everyone ?
at a certain point it about respecting peoples who spend time and money on your product, not responding to blind whiny complaints is understandable, not responding to constructive criticism and legitimate technical question is just a show of disrespect
and how about this, you dont want to care about this ? just give us Redkit, thats all you need to do, we'll do it for you .. and yet
After ALLLLLL THIS talks I think that we will get REDKIT if sony and microsoft allow CDProject to do it. This is my opinion.what make me even more sad is that they can make the game look better just by editing some files ( like we did but properly in a none hacky/destructive way )

May be you are right. Like I said, this is my opinion. I believe that there is dark side of industry that we do not see what is going on. Because otherwise this is not the method of CDProject. No comment all of that topic, modding toolkit, downgrade and so on. I hope we will get tool soon too.Sony and MS have no influence over CDPR on modding. They're still an independent company. I'm sure we'll get the modding tools fairly soon, I just wish it had been at launch.
Wellll they did comment on the downgrade. They said it's not real, it's just compression, and that the final game's visuals will be the same as the SoD trailer.May be you are right. There are also those who enjoy the game hereHere we are. Almost 300 pages and blatantly being ignored by the company that got our money based on falsehoods.
Well done CDPR, there goes your image.
When people are upset, the sometimes end up making such rediculous statements. I mean, i really LOVE bloodborne, and have done my bitching about TW3 graphics, but SERIOUSLY? Sure you might like the art STYLE of bloodborne more, but saying that the graphical fidelity is actually higher is just down right rediculous.Well, I guess we can figure out that answer for ourselves. Has to be Xbone, considering Bloodborne is PS4 exclusive and looks better than TW3 (even the PC version).
Woooh! I always wondered about this grass growing in front of Geralt's feet in chapter 2. The only way to solve it is to use mods. But it is also different from the grass before, in shape and color. It seems it is added to the first type of grass. And to see both from the distance takes a lot out of the GPU.So much for hoping Enhanced Edition will fix anything.
The comparison beetween TW2 day one and Enhanced Edition - look at the grass pop-int and the textures on the roof of that hut. It's gotta be the crappy engine.

My friend, if you've read my past comments in this thread, you'll know that I'm far from upset. In fact, I'm one of the few people who quite frankly doesn't really give a shit about the graphics of TW3.When people are upset, the sometimes end up making such rediculous statements. I mean, i really LOVE bloodborne, and have done my bitching about TW3 graphics, but SERIOUSLY? Sure you might like the art STYLE of bloodborne more, but saying that the graphical fidelity is actually higher is just down right rediculous.
Have you seen the character models in bloodborne? They look horrible. They look averange to bad for a 2011 game. Have you also noticed they are ZERO facial animations? Also NO SHADOWS whatsover. No dynamic weather of any sort. Same colour pallette all over. No dynamic lighting. The water manages to look even worse than TW3. Very liitle variety on vegetation. Textures are lower quality than TW3. Way too much sharpening to fool your eye. And about the details you mention. Have you looked in places like Yahar'gul towards some inaccessible areas? They are totally empty. Also missing textures on the horizon on several occasion(Caihurst Castle on the top of my mind, if you look outside the window where you fight the NPC). Plus the overall size. I finished NG+ Bloodborne on 3 hours. I think it takes about 10 minutes to run from Iosefka's Clinic to mergo's loft(the biggest distance in the game).
So yeah i absolutely love bloodborne as a game, and i like the art style, but in terms of graphical fidelity, they are a generation apart with the TW3.
maybe PC on low..... definitely not on ultraOn a different note: I've recently decided to try out Bloodborne on the PS4. I actually think that game on the PS4 looks better than TW3 does on the PC. Ofcourse the world of Bloodborne is a bit more compact than the world of TW3 but it does make me wonder why CDPR couldn't achieve better graphics than they currently have for TW3.
The most noticeable thing in that screenshot is the foliage. I have mixed feelings about the foliage in TW3. On one hand it looks flat, 2D and fake, on the other hand the physics applied to them making them swing and shake in the wind does make the whole scene look awesome.http://gfycat.com/CookedWeightyAmericanbobtail# even a 480p gif looks amazing
i dont see how i was lied to...... i watched all the pre-release footage... the countless hours of livestreams weeks before the game came out.. and at that point it was still 100% possible to cancel a preorder...I enjoy the game as well. A lot even!
But that's a completely different discussion.
It does not take away that we have been lied to and we got a lesser product compared to what was promised.
And now we are being ignored, blatantly being ignored while we are loyal fans who paid.
My image of CDPR has been damaged a lot.
you got those 2 the other way around.... on a TECHNICAL level witcher 3 hands down beats bloodborne.... to YOU maybe the game looks better, but that is just the art style... and thats subjective....Look, I understand Bloodborne has a different artstyle than TW3. Me thinking Bloodborne looks better than TW3 has nothing to do with the art direction because quite frankly I think TW3's art direction is fantastic. I'm judging both games on a technical level and on a technical level, Bloodborne quite frankly looks better than TW3.
Sure, Bloodborne isn't perfect, as you have well pointed out, but overall the game looks better than TW3, especially when it comes to the lighting. But that is just my opinion. Feel free to disagree.
flat, 2D and fake??? show me a game with fully modeled individual grass leaves then il shut up....The most noticeable thing in that screenshot is the foliage.
