witcher 3 Loading screens

is anybody else like me that want minimal loading screens or close to none while in the world,,im hoping its not like skyrim where every city or door that you went in you had to wait on a loading screen instead of walking writ in,,, these loading screens break immersion for me when it happens so often witch skyrim did to me.
im hoping the witcher 3 will be true open world with minimal loading screens,
if you think the same or if you dont ,,PLEASE REPLY,, i would like to hear your thoughts on this

CDPR has already said that they're aiming for a game that will have no loading what so ever after the initial loading of the game(the first time).

I agree with no loading screen. I think most players do. but look at it this way; a nice background picture of the loading screen for a region would give us a feeling about the area. CDPR mentioned that our actions could change the fate of communities, so it could also change that background picture when we're loading a save game.

Do you? Have they said this will be the case? It would be quite the feat if theydidn't, but I suppose that's too much to hope for in the near future.

Yea, there will be no loading screens as you travel apart from fast travel which will probably have short ones. As you load the game, after starting it, apparently you will have a feature called storybook on as loading screen - its a quick animated summary of what have you done so far and what next you should do storywise.

Edit Up, they said the target is to not have any loading screens at all, that includes buildings. I guess time will tell if they succeeded

I believe the aim was no loading screens at all. Adam B in an interview said their might be on some larger buildings, but they were looking at eliminating that too.

It may be overcome through a series of trigger points to begin loading the scene in the background. For instance, crossing a bridge to get to the main door. Or in the case of a large building with multiple rooms and floors, Room 1 is already pre-loaded, all other rooms load in the background once Room 1 is entered, and Geralt is maybe stopped in his tracks by dialogue with a patron among entering to give it the appropriate time to become unnoticeable.

I'm sure you have many more ideas on the possibilities.

I don't have a problem with some loading screens, it simply needs to be limited due to hardware limitations, even for high-end pc's.

I bet you anything most of the buildings will be quick load-ins.

I think that we need to get the IDEA of the different regions by ourselves and not that some sentence tell us what the regions is like

I actually loved the loading screens in TW1. Ok there mighte have been a few too many and they might have taken a bit too long for me. But still, I wouldn't want to miss them completely. :)

Exactly. He mentioned rooms that have a shitload of details and high textures that might have some sort of loading screen or loading mechanism.

They also said that there will be some sort of loading mechanism with fast travel, but they try to hide it. I think of an animation like Geralt trotting away with his horse while the camera is still. In the meantime the new area is loading in the background.

In The Witcher 2 when entering a house the screen went black for a short time. It's that kind of thing they have in mind and want to improve to deliver a smooth gameplay.

What about the three regions in the world? I'm under the impression that they don't seemlessly blend in with each other, but that they're seperate instances. DO correct me if I'm wrong.

I share the same opinion as you, my friend.

From a technical standpoint it would make sense to divide the open-world into seperate, large regions.
Because even with the advanced streaming technology CDPR is using,
it'd be pointless to stream all the ocean between Skellige and the mainland.

So I guess it will be solved like the Solstheim islands in Skyrim:
You can't swim there or go by boat (because the wind will prevent you to go beyond certain coordinates),
you'll need to board a large ship for that.

I'm fine with that approach because I don't look forward to travel across the sea for 2 weeks,
then die to a seamonster right before the mainland shore.

I expect Novigrad area and No Man's Land to be seamlessly blended together, while there will be a loading screen when we travel from mainland to Skellige. While there, we will be free roaming again, sailing between islands on our boat.

I reckon they will do as in Witcher 2. Mind you, there is a difference in loading(waiting for the game to load) and seamlessly entering somewhere without the screen going black. Even for a second.

@Mataresa

I would gladly watch the art they had in Witcher 1 while waiting. :D

We don't have to worry about doors and loadtimes in TW3.

This is a pudding that wants its proof in the eating. It's been the dream of a lot of developers to do load-screen-free, delay-free games for many years. CDPR may be advanced enough in their confidence and technology to pull it off. But I'm skeptical that they will be entirely successful in a world where computer components have finite capacity and bandwidth, disk drives have unavoidable delays, and extraneous services compete with the game. I suspect it will work well on setups that are high-performance and (more importantly) well-maintained, and less well on setups that belong to people who need support to get the game to perform for them.

Loved those in TW1 as I am sure most people here did.

Still would prefer no loading for TW3.Just to lose my self completely in the world.

Although CDPR made the statement about the "door" thing, I think what he means is that keeping the loading instances of the game at minimum rather than a totally load-time free.
