'The Fields of Ard Skellig' is very reminiscent of some of the music used in the first game. Beautiful.

I was actually so blown away from the gameplay in the new trailer I barely payed attention to the music. Its only afterwards where Im doing stuff in Real Life that I start thinking about the tune in the trailer, I'd even forgot where did it come from. When I rewatched the trailer I was blown away by the music. CDPR is on a roll.

I like how these fantasy games have their own sound when it comes to music. Witcher has that almost Gypsy exotic type of vibe. Elder Scrolls is more like soft dreamy style, and Dragon Age has a ver "Epic" Lord of the Rings type of vibe.

I'm really looking forward to this soundtrack, all of the tunes are very catchy.

for my own opinion, the soundtrack of "Sword of Destiny" is really awful. the witcher lost all his epic, superiority and atmosphere. from the beginning it's sound like grandma's howl in church and after like this grandma danced "nei, neineineinei, neineinei". the wonderful trailer ruined because of disgusting music. as for me music in witcher 2 was much beter than this howls

@forobor Seriously, man? Have you played TW1? This has the same nostalgic, slavic climate. We complained quite a lot about TW2 music being too symphonical, too movie-like and that it didn't keep up with the first game's soundtrack. It was still good but not as good as TW1 - just dig around this thread to see how it sounded like.

I love all the music released so far. There was much complaining about the personal changes since TW2, but I think Marcin shut our mouths. It has the chance to beat my favourite Skyrim & Oblivion soundtracks. All the folky stuff is just wonderful. Oh, and thanks a lot for releasing these 4 tracks! (Cause it didn't leak, right?) :)

Dunno, but the beginning (one that is played during Foltest's assasination always reminded me of Mozart's Lacrimosa (from Requiem):

"Disgusting" music you say? That's taking it a bit too far. While I agree they should tone down on the vocals and let the instruments do their work more, it still was a very good trailer track overall.

I love the vocals, to me they were one of the highlights.

The Witcher is all but epic, instead it's personal and emotional. The music we've heard so far does a great job conveying this. On one side it's raw, cacophonic, primal, even savage, and then it's lyrical, melancholic, soothing. The small scale obtained by relatively small number of instruments help in creating the intimacy. So far I'm very pleased with the direction the music is going, especially since I was disappointed by what I heard in TW2.

I think the music in TW3 is good, but ost in TW and TW2 is far more better than 3, and it's more... (what can i say).... "stylist" than this music
I really really miss Adam Skorupa, will his music come back in TW3?

While Skorupa is great, and believe me I miss Błaszczak so much, Marcin is doing a stelar job so far. It's a bit too early to judge the whole soundtrack based on just some pieces we heard here and there, most of the time not even in their entirety.

I had my reservations about the soundtrack after they released some orchestral pieces way back but those 4 tracks that come with the GOG preorder convinced my the soundtrack is in more than capable hands. I, personally, love the female vocals and tracks, mind is blown.
Also, do not forget that the soundlevels/mixing is different in a trailer than ingame where music during e.g. exploration takes a backseat.
I doubt you will have women choirs screaming at you through the whole game :D

I'm (im)patiently waiting for the choir piece used in "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - The Beginning" video; it starts around 2:06: http://youtu.be/2HGhm0H7d68?t=2m6s

I think the whole song from that trailer is one piece. You can download it here.
And if I'm not mistaken it was composed by Skorupa and Wierzynkiewicz. ;)

Yep, not into the vocals all that much. The singer was better in both TW1 and TW2. And some of the tracks released were just the same piece looped over and over again (Merchants of Novigrad, Ladies of the Woods) - as much as I love trance music, this is not trance music, you need to divesify the tracks a bit.

I'm very interested to know if W3 will feature a rich palette of ambient tracks to compliment the various environments, and if there is a fair amount of such tracks without vocals?

Just to clarify, by rich palette I mean it as diversity in the core instruments... Percival, for example, has a very distinct sound and a certain number of prominent instruments that make that sound. Will there be other instruments/sounds which we haven't yet heard, perhaps?

It's somewhere in this thread, you ca click through staff posts (RED button near the thread name, then the RED button on each staff post) to find the message, but it was said that yes, each region will have its distinct sound.
