Witcher 3 music

Sooo, most of these new tracks are basically remastered Percival tracks from before. (Fields of Ard Skellig is totally new) I don't know how I feel about it. They deserve more credit for it.
In fact, Pericval is properly credited in all the songs they contributed to. ;)

Hey guys..

It would be nice to hear "River of Life" again in TW3. But as I understood, since it is a new game, we will get only a new music.
But CDPR, please... :unworthy:

I read this thread and I cannot believe what I am seeing. Why are people complaning about the music when it was just SPOT ON? CDPR and Percival are doing a great job!

Seriously, 95% of people write about something when they find it wrong/ dislike it. Maybe a poll would make proportions like/dislike a little bit more normal. I'm gonna do a new thread with a poll right away, I'm really curious if people are THAT deaf.

Now my take, I'll try to stay around E3 music only:
-The music blends really well with both the ambient sounds (wildlife/ water flowing) as well as conversation with the witch.
-The vocals come in the right place during the fight and are not overly in-your face, they fit well! (As a guy who listens to black metal since his teens I get the concept "vocals as an instrument").
- The transition between the background music and combat music was smooth - not just "BAM! - battle track"
- The same background music could be heard both before and after the fight with bandits - good!
- The "BAM!" came when needed during Griffin fight and also blended very well with backround!
- During the Griffin fight it got the momentum it should have to emphasize the experience.
- For the purpose of the presentation the sound overall was quite silent, so it's not in its full glory.
Marcin, Great props from me!!!

I AGREE with all your points. Especially in regard to vocals and transitions. Moreover I really, really like CDPR is experimenting with vocals and what seems to be a violin or basolia.
To all the nay sayers. If you expect 'standard' orchestral music please go play DA:I. I personally, don't want a repeat of TW2 soundtrack(too mainstreamed). CDPR said they want to bring up some slavic focklore in TW3 in order to help players to immerse with the game. How do you people expect they 'show off' folk music using orchestral stuff? It has to be done in certain way and CDPR(and Percival even more) seems to have a correct grip on how to deliver.
If the rest of the soundtrack for TW3 is going to be kept in simillar mood to what was already released by CDPR I will call this soundtrack the best soundtrack out of all 3 games. No question.

Yeah, I love his style, he really made the OST of the first game something special, with Adam Skorupa coming up with the wonderful main theme. They were a very strong team.

So far, personally, I have not been satisfied with what we've heard in TW2 and TW3.

I definitely agree about the soundtrack. I finished my 3rd play-through of TW1 a few days ago and was thoroughly reminded of how great the OST was. While TW2 had some fantastic tracks like A Nearly Peaceful Place, Easier Said Than Killed, and Vergen by Night, I feel the first game was overall the stronger piece. Hopefully TW3 will not follow that pattern.

Yes, as much as I want to like TW3's music (what we've heard of it so far), it could end up the worst of the trilogy. I hope not, but it could.

Music is much more important than graphics when talking about immersion.

The Witcher 1 was way more immersive than The Witcher 2 specially because of the OST.
Every song must be unique and perfectly crafted in order to achieve the best possible experience. I hope The Witcher 3 OST is getting the attention it deserves.

We need a more nostalgic feeling...
It is the last part of the legend. Geralt's personal story must be fulfilled with great compositions so people can get vibes and emotions while playing through it.
I didn't hear anything related to the music in any of those E3 2014 interviews...

A great RPG needs a great soundtrack. That's what I call art for the senses.

Fortunately Konrad Tomaszkiewicz is aware of that. The immersion is directly related to music. I am sure The Witcher 3 will have a memorable OST. The few themes I've heard sound perfect. Not only the official ones like Hunt or be Hunted, The fields of Ard Skellige... but also these ones:

Calling Percival to contribute in the soundtrack was a genius idea. Marcin Przybyłowicz and the polish band already nailed it.

TW3 >>> TW1 >>> TW2

I think they are heading to the right direction about the soundtrack. I like more of them than the TW2's soundtrack. Thoose was "generic" fantasy track most of the time (it has very good moments thought). I remember when I watch the teaser for the first time and ended with the TW1 main theme, there was tears in my eyes. Remember that scene from E3 when Geralt pull out his Silver sword against the Griffin? That was so epic, and felt more naturally with this neofolk soundtrack.
