I'm not sure whether anyone else noticed this as well but it seems there are fishing rods and fishing nets as lootable items and they belong to category other. You can clearly see that in Angry Joe's video.I wonder will we be able to actually catch fish with them or are they simply filler and sold for little additional gold.If it's not in vanilla let's hope it gets introtuded in one of the free dlcs which could be named: Mini games and include dice poker as well and what not.

yea we can fish out a Drowner or a water hag :p

You can do just light hits. Gamestar said whithout fighting on hore, parying or doing heavy strikes there will be no stuff like decapitation.

First, calling someboday a nitpicker or whiner is just needlessly offensive.

Give me a break. Calling someone a person, that is criticizing something constantly, in a petty way, is needlessly offensive? What is this, socialist's utopia?
Besides - I never said any names, you just took as an insult towards yourself, I guess.

Second, "little things" are relativ. People are different and have different priorities, tastes, expectations, epxeriences. Some things you deem little others might deem major.

Of course - in a balanced way. If a person is criticizing everything that he hears about, and says nothing or barely anything about the good things, something's not right and this person is either a nitpicker or just hates the medium he talks about. Most likely the first in this case, cause Witcher 3 haters wouldn't waste time writing on forum.

Fourth, there is some weird disturbance in perspective if constant praising is allowed and welcomed while criticism is apparently only allowed in small doses or once or not at all (because it's just little stuff). It's obviously ok to excessively comment on the beauty of the graphics with every new release video and screenshot (although the same people already said the same maybe 20 or 30 times already) while it's not allowed to do so for negative feedback - because you're obviously a whiner or nitpicker in the case.

Somewhat good point, but not in every case. Because objectively Witcher 3 looks much better, than mediocre - so most people focus on the good stuff - because simply, there is much more of it. When a person only praises the game, it's not as weird and not-believable, as a person that is only seeing the same game in negative light. That's why most people (which also have their gripes with what they see from the game, but are mostly very positive), judge "nitpickers" negatively - such person just feels non-genuine, of you know what I mean.

Sorry, you also can't blame me for judging others as well. And imo here are way more fanb*beep* than nitpickers... ;)

Again, never said any name.
And I will never blame you or anyone else for judging others, but I might criticize your judgement.
Sorry didn't understand the last sentence.

Anyway, this is not a thread for this. Let's get back to business.

I am not one to nitpick but something that bothered me while watching the videos - Whenever Geralt rides through a tree's branches and leaves he goes right through them like they are non-existent. Maybe it was a glitch that has been fixed or it is meant to be this way, not that it will stop me from playing the game, but it is a small thing that is looking really out of place when you compare it to the amazing atmosphere around it.

Also I just read another guy's comment and I remembered that I had noticed these things - the drowner who got hit on one side but his body was sliced on the other one, and the boat sometimes glitching in the water.

Except for these little nitpicked details, game is simply amazing

When Geralt passes real close to a tree, it disappears as you pass them to give an unobstructed view of Geralt. I think this gives an illusion of going through trees. I need to see the videos again, but that was my first impression.

Yup, noticed it as well as weird collisions between people and the horse. I hope they are fixed now.

God, I hope your speculation is right. The DLCs are supposed to come in pairs, aren't they? A dice poker + fishing would be such an awesome combo...

Catching fish would be a hell of a step down from catching sorceresses and hunting monsters.
Also, not to mess with your hype, but, um, you could loot those same fishing nets in W2.

I never said that I felt insulted. I said that calling people whiners is in general needlessly offensive. If I think somebody is an asshole I don't just go out an call him so. If I do so here I get warned or banned for a good reason - even if it's totally true and the very person is indeed an asshole. It doesn't matter. You have to stick to certain rules of courtesy and mutual respect here no matter how you really think about other people or what they say. That's not giving you the right to call other people names.

Of course - in a balanced way. If a person is criticizing everything that he hears about, and says nothing or barely anything about the good things, something's not right and this person is either a nitpicker or just hates the medium he talks about. And again: an issue of misinterpretation and overinterpretation. The simple truth is that I see no point in constant praise. I already said that the graphics are nice, that the sound is nice, that the story seems to be promising and so on. I see no point in repeating that every time I see a new video or screenshot. There is also the general perception that if you buy something and don't talk about it much, you generally like it (at least that's true where I live). So maybe some feedback may appear mainly negative and it probably is but that isn't nitpicking it's just a reduction to important points somebody wants to raise. If I see a video in which I see something I don't like I talk about it. Maybe the rest of the video was great but I already said a lot about that stuff on another occasion. So why saying it again? It's not my job to make the devs feel good here tbh...

Maybe you should accept that graphics aren't very important to some people. Also I see no point in praising the game here. I'm not doing a review. I'm already preorderd the game. There is no need for constant praising. And people who judge on others because of criticism they post on the net, well....

And I will never blame you or anyone else for judging others, but I might criticize your judgement.
So do I. But I'm pretty sure when I call people who overly praise the game fanboys I get warned or my post gets even deleted (wouldn't be the first time). It's always accepted here to praise the game and call people with different opinions whiners but if you do the same from the opposite perspective you're on the brink of being banned. Nice, hm... ;)

Sure, now we can go back to business. ;)

Hey guys and girls, I have watched some youtube videos who had their hands on The Witcher 3, they mentioned that they played it on ULTRA settings, but it does not look like it. Is it an older build or is it gimped for consoles?

How it was said that often: Its the you tube compression. Dont worry the only thing I indeed didnt like were the textures of the gras and the other vegitation.

Yes vegetation still does not look good, I have to see myself. Therefore, I also think the Youtuber's might thinks its is on ultra but could actually be on high.

I honestly think it's mainly due to stuff like motion-blur and depth-of-field being enabled and not only due to video compression. These effects really mud the picture up if you move the camera. It's perfectly sharp if you don't move at all but once you get moving everything gets blurry and uglier.

Stuff like that is usually the first thing I disable in games. GTA V for example looked imo a lot worse in motion with that stuff enabled. Now it's perfectly sharp again, both in motion and in rest. I hope CDPR will release some 1080p/60FPS videos without motion-blur and depth-of-field in the future... ;)
