Let's hope those missing codes are really tough to substitute lol

But, those are wild guesses. Back to the topic, when we will get a new trailer? :D

Well, considering no game that has been available for preload on Origin, Steam, Uplay has ever been cracked before release(where ever there have been pre-release leaks, it's always from retail copies), I don't see how Witcher will be any different.

I hope leaks like this don't get out of hand before release. Speaking of preloading, can I preload the game on GOG before I get my retail PC copy? I don't mean to derail the thread, I was just wondering about this. Thanks. :)

I think the code will be present in the box along with game disks. If you have game disk, why would you want to pre-load?

I can see the reason for the question, a lot of people won't have the retail disk by launch, so won't be ready to go. (Mine, for example, won't arrive until end May). Your answer is still correct though.

@azrael.1289 & @Dragonbird

I want to preload the game before release so that when I get my PC standard retail copy, I can put in my code, download the file to unlock the game, and play it. I don't want to have to download and install it if I get it at midnight or whenever. Just don't let me unlock it unless I have the code from the boxed copy, and the file from the site that the code unlocks.

Plain and simple! :)

You probably won't be able to do this, as you won't be able to get the GOG backup until you have the code, and you won't have the code until you have the box. When you DO have the box, you can just install from the disks and activate it.

Yeah. This is what I wanted to tell.
@N00B-X-R4Z3R They only allow people who already have the game activated on GOG to download(not just play) the game.

Just to clarify though, that's NOT the same as "using the code". The code is used to get a free GOG backup, and to get the DLC and patches. Activating to get that last little file is a separate process and doesn't turn you into a GOG user.
Anyway, best if this continues in the main thread for the topic:

The news has hit google by now... spotted a few articles and a growing reddit post. People are already joking about importing. ;)

Damn that is really unfortunate. 10 more days to go. I wasn't hyped for a game like this in a long time.
I hope everything turns out well for you. ;)

Can anybody give me a GOOD reason as to why CD Projekt RED shouldn't just release the game now? The way I see it, the game is done, finished, gone Gold. Why aren't we playing it exactly? Can someone explain this to me? If your response is, "because that is the date they set to release", please do not respond to this. Give me a GOOD reason why we aren't playing it right now.

Brick and mortar retailers would throw the biggest bitchfest you've ever had the displeasure of seeing.

Because it is not yet in all stores. While some people may be able to play it if we released it now, not everyone could. And, since you (and many) are upset that they can't play while others can, imagine how those who would not be able to play would feel if you were part of the group who couldn't play yet.

Good enough?

Better question is why some games seem to take more than a month from the time it goes gold to hit shelves while some games take less than two. Guess it's a question of logistics and such.

Looks like you're in a pickle, aren't ya? Cursed if you don't, damned if you do. Shouldn't majority win here in a situation like this? The number of people that would have access to the game, in comparison to the number of people that wouldn't get it until later? (I really don't know who would be majority :) ) Or could be a PR play to save face to hold the date as officially announced, while we have knife and fork in hand ready to feast yelling to hurry it up. We are an impatient lot. We want it all, and we want it now. I'm sorry.

Isn't that the same timeframe?

Gold < 1 Month < Game release < 2 ?

Hmm an example of a recent game, Far Cry 4, was cracked 7 days before release... Just off the top of my head :p

No sense to crack - in 9-8-7..1 day after, will be "no DRM version". So, it's stupid job.

Why would they be cursed if they don't?
