A very nice retrospective on the entire series featuring multiple devs. :)

“To this day,” said Stępień, “I have fond memories of Old Friend of Mine, [a quest] which culminated with the get-together at Shani’s house. That’s a quest that I think really manages to capture the spirit of Sapkowski’s prose, a spirit that’s hard to capture in a computer game because it assumes an almost complete lack of action: no enemies — none of the challenges players are used to having in a quest. But we managed to produce something successful and had a good time doing it. I think I still have the uncut version of that quest somewhere, where there’s at least three times as much dialogue as you saw in that quest in the game.”

I want that uncut version of that quest, right now... :O

Everything that Blacha said there filled me with sadness and despair, especially parts about 'disabled family' and 'Wild Hunt undercover ops' which not made it through development :(
cut content always depresses me, it may be done for the greater good, but it can also add more to the story and overall experience. just look at KOTOR II, with the restored content mod, the game became SO MUCH better, i even like it more than kotor I.

let's hope when they'll release the REDkit 2, we'll be able to find some of the cut content and restore it to the game ^^

The uncover mission sounds just like what the game was missing as found the wild hunt to be very underdevelopment, especially since the game is called "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt".

Oh my god, yes, that undercover misison would have been so fucking glorious. I also really like 'version 4' of Yennefer:

Great article. Love this stuff.
