Witcher 3 UI

It was mentioned that there will be differnt UI according to which platform you'll run TW3.
Basically the main difference will be between Console UI (controller optimized )and PC UI (mouse-keyboard optimized).

I wish the devs will let the PC player choose the console-type UI in case he's going to play with a controller.
Some people can't use mouse-keyboard due to small mobility issues and they're forced to use controller on PC. Other simply prefer to play with the joypad.

It would be fair if the UI switched in console-mode when the game is played through a controller.
Thanks

This. All day, everyday, this.

I played TW2 with KM as well for fun, and I didn't have any problems navigating that UI, but whatever. Everyone has different problems, so it's understandable. Since we know the UI is now more "PC-friendly", I hope there's a consideration for people who play the PC version with the controller.

And it would suck if there are aspects missing from the UI simply because it switches to console version. I think many games have been able to include a consideration for gamepad users without limiting what the gamepad users can do, so TW3 can hopefully do that too.

Im almost sure they'll let you use it, CDPRED gives importance to playing with controllers anywhere, as you've seen with the witcher 2's controls and UI

That's a strange thing to say because I wasn't able to play with the HUD disabled with my controller. Can we not turn this into a PC vs. console thing? Really unnecessary.

Yes, it's a very good idea. I expect CDPR to address this issue.

As a layman, I've always thought something like this should be easy to do. But I have never seen the option even once. So I'll be happy if PC gets a PC oriented UI and consoles get one designed for a pad.

AND PC gets a gamepad UI if gamepad is being used.

Deus Ex HR does this, the UI switches to gamepad UI if one is being used.

Let me choose between grid inventory or weight based and I'm fine. I prefer the latter it and I only use KB+Mouse.

Yeah, this sounds like a good idea. So can someone bring this to a dev’s attention? Speaking of which, why don’t we have a recurring thread (say, once a week) in which we can vote to elect one issue/suggestion/whatever that we want to want to ask/tell the developers about? I think that would greatly increase the communication between each other and doesn’t seem like something that would overwhelm them either.

I mean they do seem to browse the forums occasionally (primarily the Polish ones, I’m told) but that’s not the same since the aforementioned method would really boil all the going-ons in the forums down to the essence of what we care about most at that point in time without them having to decide on their own what the majority is actually concerned with.

Very good idea. I frequent another forum and they have a community suggestions sticky thread. Maybe you should ask a mod or red if you could start it and they'll sticky it.

Will look into that regarding how this could be done, but no promises yet :p

PS. And no, I don't think they are browsing primarily Polish forums. It's rather even.

The problem is, we don't know if they are reading this (in time), they say they watch the forum and responds occasionally to some posts/topic which is great but it would also be great to know that someone from CDP Red read this or know of these matters.

i.e. like when someone from CDP Red replies to a thread a Red icon is next to the thread, so you could do something similar when someone reads it.

oh yeah an option m+k and gamepad UI would be cool.
