Witcher crashes my PC.

Alright, so I bought The Witcher the other day, and I really love it, I updated it to the latest, all that. I was playing fine till I hit chapter 2, in which now I can play for like 10-15 minutes, and my entire computer will die. I know it's not my power supply, and I've updated and tried different drivers for my video card, it doesn't give me a blue screen or anything, it just cuts off. It doesn't do this with other games...What can I do?

You need to post all your system specs. There is nothing here to go on .... not even information about the PSU.

It can really be thousands of things, if you don't include your system specs or a DxDiag log, we wont have a clue what is the problem.... Why, because mainly the problems dont come from the game... yup, you hear me, it is not the game :) The thing is that this game is really hard on a system (nope, i dont think after a full year, they got something that ask as much to a system) and it will point out the smallest problem. In the first months when the game was released, the game showed problems with CPU fans, Broken video cards, bad memory modules, broken power supply etc.... And all those peeps were playing other recent games and all said the same thing "The game does this or that to my system, can you help me ? I can play other games with no problem at all, Fix your game !!! " Guess what, they had to fix their system :) So, if you want to have a system in perfect state, play the Witcher and it will help you fixing it :)

I followed the wiki, you don't have to jump at me for not having everything, it couldn't pull up things about my drivers.I believe I fixed it by the way, Just needed a fresh driver wipe of my gpu, runs good with the Nvidia 177.79 Beta Drivers. Will do some extensive play and get back to you on it.

Hehe, as i say, Emotions dont make it when you write... I did not jump at you, as was trying to be informative :) For you and others :) Did i forgot to add smilies all over the place ? :) I am happy to see you may have solved it... But if you have another problem, come back and attach a dxdiag log with your post :) It is a great start for troubleshooting :) Dont worry, i had a smile and wanted to help when i posted that :)

Alright, not quite sure if this can help or not, but this is what I've got from DXDIAG....if this isn't what you need, just tell me how to get it....Oh, and don't worry about it, I'm going through some family crisis (two deaths in a freaking week)

Thanks for your sympathies. It means a lot.As for the problem, it does still persist...I know it isn't Windows Defender.....because I scraped that from my Windows....I don't BSOD, it just cuts off lol....All my AntiVirals and similarities are off...Uh...Hrm....Any clue? Anything I can get you that'd help you out even more?

Sorry for the delay, i could not figure out who that dxdiag i had on my desktop belongs to :) Could be really easy... You are on Nvidia and, Vista UltimateIf you have Dreamscene installed (most likely the case) uninstall it.If you are aint sure on how to look for it or to remove it, let me know, i will give you the steps :)
