Witcher Enhanced Edition (Steam) crashes PC

First of all: I'm running Windows 7 64-bit.

Problem: I run the game (Witcher Enhanced Edition on Steam). It gets into the opening screens, showing logos, etc, but it freezes my PC EVERY SINGLE TIME, before the game even gets to the main title screen/menu. It's not just the game that crashes. It's my entire system that freezes, and I have to power down manually by holding the button on the chassis. No other game or process has caused this. The Witcher does it every time, without fail. I haven't even got far enough to be able to start a game.

I've attached a PC Wizard report.

Thanks.

First question, what are you powering and cooling this big iron with? Looks like you have a premium motherboard, 130W TDP processor, 250W TDP GPU -- and what is powering all this and keeping it cool?

TW2 is a more effective test of PC stability than many purpose-built programs. If your rig is even a little bit wonky with all your components running at full TDP, misfires even one instruction when doing a mode switch, or drops so much as one bit of memory, this game is likely to catch it.

Make sure your power supply is the real thing capable of delivering more than 500 watts of tightly regulated power, not some cheap crap that came with the case or was the default option of the builder you bought from. Make sure there's enough air flow for all that heat to be exhausted.

Run Intel Burn Test and memtest86+ to make sure your CPU and memory can run indefinitely with zero errors.

Make sure you are running current GPU drivers (since you don't have an nVidia card, you don't have to worry about their latest drivers, which are buggy).

*Tommy* uses the Steam edition and should have some additional pointers on how to make sure you have the Steam edition completely and accurately installed.

My power supply is a OCZ ZX Gold 1250 watt.
Code:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004NMJ9ZI/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
My cpu and gpu are cooled by a custom water cooling loop. Temps never seem to go above 45 C, even under full load. (The game I'm having problems with is TW1, by the way.) I have my fans set up so there is no positive/negative pressure: equal amount of intake as there is exhaust. Overall, my rig runs very cool.

I have the latest AMD drivers installed.

I'll run Intel Burn Test and memtest86+, as you instructed.

Thanks again.

Make sure your windows is up to date . Also try exiting or uninstalling the Elby clone drive . Also try verifying the game cache .

I ran memtest86+ and Intel Burn Test. No errors with either one.

Windows is completely up to date. I've verified game cache twice (once yesterday and once today, for the heck of it). Steam says all is well. Disabled clone drive.

My system is still locking up when I run The Witcher.

Still sounds like verification failure . But You can try installing DX
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=3b170b25-abab-4bc3-ae91-50ceb6d8fa8d
And VC Redistributables

As a sidenote you can claim a backup copy from GOG with your cd-key
