Witcher Save Game / World State Creation Kit?
I replayed the Witcher and Witcher 2 about 7 times each, have possibly all the endings but I lost 13 of the save games during the years by either hard drive failures, or system upgrades and so on . . . I think similar to the game we shall not name, I think we should have either a website, an application or a pregame menu that will allow us to set the world state we want to play in instead of digging for save game files or downloading ones you don't know all the info about. I think an interactive menu similar to witcher mutation page can be of great use.
What do you guys think? Maybe there will be a little detail that will be preserved for those that are strong willed enough to keep their save games, like bonus gold or something, but we shouldnt miss out on important story bits just because we lost one of our save games.
EDIT: I received an answer from an interview found below. Here is the part that concerns this thread:
Q: for players new to the series, say on Xbox One or PS4, that can’t import their Witcher 2 saves, what will the “default” beginning be?
DM: There isn’t one. Even for consoles we came up with a system so that, I don’t want to spoil too much, but it’s really neat. Basically, it allows for you and even players totally new to the Witcher franchise, to decide how they had played the second one, how it would’ve ended. It’s not heavy-handed at all, it’s actually nicely designed. You’ll see. There are ways for you at the beginning to dictate all of those things as if you had moved your save game.
AG: So even if you jump from say, Xbox 360 to PS4, you can still make sure that those choices you made are there in the game.
DM: Absolutely.
