Witcher Save Game / World State Creation Kit?

Witcher Save Game / World State Creation Kit?

I replayed the Witcher and Witcher 2 about 7 times each, have possibly all the endings but I lost 13 of the save games during the years by either hard drive failures, or system upgrades and so on . . . I think similar to the game we shall not name, I think we should have either a website, an application or a pregame menu that will allow us to set the world state we want to play in instead of digging for save game files or downloading ones you don't know all the info about. I think an interactive menu similar to witcher mutation page can be of great use.

What do you guys think? Maybe there will be a little detail that will be preserved for those that are strong willed enough to keep their save games, like bonus gold or something, but we shouldnt miss out on important story bits just because we lost one of our save games.

EDIT: I received an answer from an interview found below. Here is the part that concerns this thread:

Q: for players new to the series, say on Xbox One or PS4, that can’t import their Witcher 2 saves, what will the “default” beginning be?

DM: There isn’t one. Even for consoles we came up with a system so that, I don’t want to spoil too much, but it’s really neat. Basically, it allows for you and even players totally new to the Witcher franchise, to decide how they had played the second one, how it would’ve ended. It’s not heavy-handed at all, it’s actually nicely designed. You’ll see. There are ways for you at the beginning to dictate all of those things as if you had moved your save game.

AG: So even if you jump from say, Xbox 360 to PS4, you can still make sure that those choices you made are there in the game.

DM: Absolutely.

Thanks and red points for you, but this is sloppy. I want something more official. Something RED is gonna make to prove that its better in the industry. How about the XBOX fans and the PS4 Fans? how about those that never come to this forum ro have an account? the other 4 million casuals. I think RED should create something that is shipped with the game that will allow them to create their own paths. WIth pictures and description of what each choice means. So if someone who just knows who the characters are but not their stories can still create the story and put it together than blindly just download save files without knowing whats really inside of them.

P.S. I dont own a console.

CDRed said in an interview that you'll be able to choose witcher 2 path in the witcher 3 intro. We don't know if you'll be able to choose every path thought. (months ago, if someone got the interview on hand please post a link to it)

Edit: I can't find any source on that, maybe I spoke too quickly but I think I read it some time ago

While I think a Dragon Age Keep for TW3 would be amazing, it's unlikely to happen at this point. It's a huge undertaking and incredibly ambitious. If this wasn't something that was in the works years ago, it's not going to get done now. We are three months away from TW3 releasing and unless they have something already built in-game or are doing save imports, an internet database for all decisions just isn't likely. I would also state that the save import feature for TW2 was clearly a last minute job. It had nothing to do with importing actual choices from TW1, but rather giving you the two legendary weapons and Raven's armor had you achieved them in TW1.

While it was a nice nod, it wasn't on the level of BioWare's save imports. Is CDPR going to make a more in-depth and comprehensive save import for TW3? Maybe. They certainly haven't talked about it. I wouldn't expect too much as CDPR tries to make these games as standalone as possible. Just try playing ME2 and ME3 without playing the others and you'll realize how utterly confused you are unless you played the previous ones and used the save import feature.

Would you mind linking a source to your assertion? Not that I don't believe you, but I'd like to see what CDPR had to say about the potential issue.

CDPR touched this point in this interview, as noticed by Kinley here.

Nice. I suppose this makes sense, especially for those on PS4 who may have never played TW3 before. I have to admit it was a nice treat getting Raven's armor and the legendary weapons carried over from TW1 to TW2. I'm certain the choices we get to choose at the beginning of TW3 will be purely plot-based.

Wll I guess I got the answer, I hope they give a little more now that its a sensitive time. Here is the text for those who dont want to click on the interview:

We may receive more details closer to release, but I wouldn't count on it. CDPR seems to want to avoid talking about it as they'd rather people get to experience it for the first time without having prior knowledge. If I had to guess based on their previous works, we will either have Dandelion narrating the choices in the form of a poem or we'll have a comic book-style short clip going through all the choices we pick.

There will not be a save import feature for TW3. Instead, there will be a feature at the beginning of the game where you can choose your choices from TW2 (similar to ME2 on PS3).
